Look what he did to William O Douglas, my great favorite man, he told lies that he knew were lies, in a big self-righteous-sounding fit act, to get this great New Dealer off the Court, just because some dork higher up told him to. That's Jerry Ford. Even my father, a dyed in the wool Republican, thought it was nasty.
Still Nader is responsible for lots of people being alive, and that will never be the case with those other people. Before he came along, they couldn't even get car companies to put padding in the dashboards of cars, so children were getting killed just from hitting the hard dash when the brakes went on. Because the padding cost $10 probably. Can you imagine? There was a problem with a crazy window on the back of a station wagon but nothing was done until the child of somebody in the Ford family was caught in the closing window. If memory serves. Companies had no time for safety till Nader.
You know, Reagan was a general laughingstock among a big swathe of people but after he was dead there was a campaign-- when he was looking pretty bad because of Iran Contra and I guess general fatigue with him, a campaign was launched-- for the sake of the future of conservatism I guess-- to turn him into this Great Guy you couldn't say a bad word about. And it succeeded. Even his daughter Patti succumbed. Or maybe that was different. I think it was Meese and Cheney. OMG it's very different now from those days, isn't it? I was astounded when Barack said something so nice about him which I've blocked out.
SAME. I made that gripe too, but you didn't take it far enough. He breaks the rule set out in the beginning by going back over 70 years to FDR. If he was going with that same time frame, that means we've left out one GOP President, Eisenhower... the one Dems and GOPers are willing to agree was a pretty great President. Had some errors like destabilizing the Democratic Republic of Congo, but mostly stayed out of wars and built freeways and had a high marginal tax rate.
Ok, it's a stickler, but the question was in the last 50 years. That means until 1969. If he wants to cheat to throw in FDR on the Dem side, why the fuck did he skip over Eisenhower whom most Americans are genuinely OK with? Why? Because he's a Republican who can't make in the GOP primary of a sitting GOP president, so he wants to lone wolf it because he "doesn't play by either party's rules" like a trite cop trope.
I have a similar belief, but I only care if they were raised poor or middle class. That's when they learn what it's like. If they become rich later at least some retain their empathy for those who don't.
Still can't find the article I read before but here we go:
"Starbucks will only pay out an initial lump sum to juniors and seniors after they earn 21 credits. Additional reimbursements will be dispensed in 21-credit increments as well. The money is paid once a year in an employee's paycheck, Riley said."
Oh.

But expensive, which is too often all that rich people care about.
Not while Donald Trump's around. That's part of his base.
I can't entirely agree. At least whores work for their money.
Odd that's he's running as an Independent when he's clearly a Republican.

Thanks. I read the link and I felt like the terms are so pitiful-- why not just torture these people who're trying to get somewhere?

Except employees were only reimbursed after completing 20 credit hours which they have to pay for out of pocket. Unfortunately, I can't find the link.
