It goes without saying that Trump's only talent is chaos. It served him well enough in the election, where he was able to create enough confusion that the people elected a convicted felon. But it has no use in government, other than to degrade it to a gang fight, which is what we see now.

Elsewhere, I'm defrosting the mini fridge. It's like watching the grass grow, and not the good grass.

I wanted to share my latest moent of affirming happiness, because sharing that kind of thing makes me feel better and might just make other people feel better.

I need new boob slings. My chest is still growing, and my current collection is starting to fall apart at the seams. I stick to sports bras because the sizing is actually understandable, and anything with sizing like 42C and 44B are prohibitively costly and unlikely to grow with me. Sports bras, though, stretch and adapt.

And I have surprisingly found cute sports bras online for reasonable prices! Now if only I could actually pay for them lmao. But still, finding stuff I like, especially for underclothes, is a minor miracle.

The left is always told to stop overreacting.

But have you ever heard anyone tell republicans or Trump to stop overreacting?

clairence's avatar

they're barely even reacting. Unless "I don't know anything about it" counts.

OT!

Yesterday i did something Meta. I watched a movie biography of Jeff Bezos on Amazon video. It was as boring as you wouldd expect. Before Amazon, he was an investment bank guy who noticed an opportunity in e-commerce. Take that and stretch it out for two hours. The last scene was the screen on a computer in Bezos garage when the first Amazon order came in. Then an epilog about of much of a return on investment his parents got for giving him the see money. *Sigh*

TootsStansbury 🇺🇦's avatar

I still shop at Whole Foods, to my great shame. Their supply chain seems to be failing, the experience has been enshittified for the past few months. I think Bezos’ empire is crumbling.

Doing the smart thing and focusing on keeping the porches clear. The driveway can wait until tomorrow. This dusty snow is deceptively heavy when shoveled.

Yeah, I was out there a little while ago. It's coming down almost faster than I can clear it.

Avoid lifting. Push it like a plow would. Let your legs do the work.

Random's avatar

I'm trying, but there are times when lifting is the only option. But I'll be doing it piecemeal (little vs. big piles).

Trump blamed Democrats for the "chaos" in Minneapolis in his post on Truth Social on Sunday. He also called on Democratic lawmakers in the state to "cooperate" with federal efforts to deport all "illegal criminals," a label that appears to include American citizens as well.

"I am hereby calling on Governor Walz, Mayor Frey, and EVERY Democrat Governor and Mayor in the United States of America to formally cooperate with the Trump Administration to enforce our Nation’s Laws, rather than resist and stoke the flames of Division, Chaos, and Violence," Trump wrote on Truth Social.

In the screed, Trump ran through the usual suspects that he blames for America's ills: former President Joe Biden, Democrats, and illegal immigrants. He called on law enforcement to start cooperating with federal officers, which would violate several states' laws.

"All of these requests are rooted in COMMON SENSE, and will provide the best possible circumstances to, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!" the post continued. "The Trump Administration is standing by, and waiting for ANY Democrat to do the right thing, and work with us on these important matters of MAKING AMERICA SAFE like it is in all sections of our Country where we are, together with Local Leadership, participating and involved."

Well I agree with him that Joe Biden’s whole “We need to just move forward. Republicans really are a bunch of pretty good dudes who want what’s best for America” attitude, did play a big role in helping get us where we are.

Prometheus59650's avatar

It's been that way since Nixon.

Nixon should have been impeached after resignation.

Reagan. Bush. Impeached.

It should never have been considered an absolute last resort. It's been thought of as that for so long, nothing is reason enough.

Should have always been, "Ride the rails of normalcy and legality, or you're just fucking done."

Aquaman, Real Estate Investor.'s avatar

This.

Its a confidence vote but with extra steps.

Once America has had two or three big impeachments, say Trump, Vance and at least two from SCOTUS, then it might mature a little.

satch's avatar

How could anyone have a career in the Senate and think that Republicans were EVER a bunch of pretty good dudes?

Parker Leo Blinsky's avatar

Because for decades paled around at the same parties and other social events as the likes of McConnell, Strom Thurmond, John McCain, Lindsay Graham, Orrin Hatch, Chuck Grassley, etc.

People think I’m being so unfair on poor Joe and that I’m exaggerating when I talk about his strong feelings for his boys club Senate members…….When the reality is he quite literally considers them to be his good friends in every sense of the phrase. Biden would do almost anything to not threaten their friendships and that totally applied to his reluctance to drop the full force of his office on Trump.

Nice Time: I just peeked out my front window and noticed that one of my neighbors cleared the snow from my front steps.

eppe's avatar

My next-door neighbor (one side only) do have a bit of a friendly competition in that sense. If I go out in the morning to shovel snow I am both pleased and a little disappointed to see that he got there first. My parents were also just as lucky to have a great neighbor like Lee for almost 40 years.

Shananigan's avatar

I think they noticed I'm still limping from getting my leg smashed up last year. I've been a bit anxious about this first snow here and their kindness helped lessen that a bit for me.

With the Patriots returning to the Superb Owl, I’d like to take a moment to remember my late New England born and raised mother and how she couldn’t stand that the drivers in the region she moved to as adult were, in her words, “timid and balless.”

That area? Metro Detroit.

satch's avatar

These are not the Belichick era Patriots. Mike Vrabel is human, and Drake Maye is like a more likeable Tom Brady who can run.

Totally agree with her. Lived in MA for over a decade and thought I had seen it all until I moved to MI and drove the highways around Detroit.
