How the wealthiest country in the world can have a leader and his "bullshit Barbie" suggest that other countries are taking advantage of them is more gaslighting. The USA has been living on credit for decades, just like Trump. Both, by and large are technically speaking bankrupt, but still make promises that they can pay their debts while continuing to run on credit. This is not going to turn out well.
“President Trump knows how to negotiate, and he knows that he is governing the best country and the best economy in this world, on this planet, and every country on the planet needs to have good trade relationships with the United States.” is proof the statement is false.

I keep thinking today's a holiday because I have the night off tonight. Technically, it is a holiday for me, I worked Friday when everyone else had the day off and I'm taking Monday night as a substitute. But I have to keep reminding myself probably very, very few other people are.
back when I did ten day four days, I liked the weekday off very much. That was THE best time to hit stores or take in a show or what not. Cause everyone else was at work ^.^
That is a nice part of working nights -- I may only have a couple of hours between stores opening and bedtime to do shopping in, but hardly anyone else is around then.
Donald Trump has said his administration plans to start sending letters on Monday to US trade partners dictating new tariffs, amid confusion over when the new rates will come into effect.
“It could be 12, maybe 15 [letters],” the president told reporters, “and we’ve made deals also, so we’re going to have a combination of letters and some deals have been made.”
With his previously announced 90-day pause on tariffs set to end on 9 July, the president was asked if the new rates would come into effect this week or on 1 August, as some officials had suggested.
“No, there are going to be tariffs, the tariffs, the tariffs are going to be, the tariffs,” the president began uncertainly. “I think we’ll have most countries done by July 9, yeah. Either a letter or a deal.”
Sensing the confusion, his commerce secretary, Howard Lutnick, jumped in to add: “But they go into effect on August 1. Tariffs go into effect August 1, but the president is setting the rates and the deals right now.”
Man, just doing a bit of reading on the $50 billion "rural hospital fund." Do legislatures realize how much money that is NOT. My local regional hospital has "finances currently strain under $32.8 million in debt principal and $20 million in annual interest" according to the local paper. That's what, 10% of the "fund". Good luck saving rural hospitals with that chump change.
I'm not arguing with your general point, just pointing out a math mistake. I have no idea how many hospitals this applies to, but if it is more than a thousand this is not going to be anywhere near enough.
I once traveled, on a plane, with a then 5 month old and a 3 and a half almost 4 year old. Even the infant did not scream the entire time.
Why?
Because I attended them and kept them from screaming is why. Easy to occupy a 3-4 year old on a plane: look out the window! Look at the people! We're going in the sky! The infant just wanted feeding at appropriate times and otherwise DNGAF
When we flew last week I wanted to tell the parents to pay some attention to their kids. I’m not a parent so I don’t know, but you could hear the little kids getting louder and more whiny and the parents just ignored them like “this is my vacation!”
When Mrs. JC made the mistake of complaining to her mom about how stubborn our son was, she got laughed at. Loudly. (She's still *really* stubborn, but she was worse as a child.)
It's really weird looking at the cast lists for these "What If... ?" episodes and seeing some original actors (this one had Cate Blanchett voicing Hela and Idris Elba voicing Heimdall, who has all of 3 lines) mixed in with a bunch of (for lack of a better term) stock players doing the other big roles.
I think I’ve discovered a way to make some money. With Hollywood creativity circling the drain and busily rehashing old movies and plots, I’ve decided to punch up and pitch some movie series.
Currently, I’m rewriting “Bonzo Goes To College” to “Manbaby Runs a Country”.
"As the Secretary of Defense I will not rest until President so-called Manbaby's plan that would definitely bring about world peace and make everyone- EVERYONE'S- breath smell great all the time is crushed! Grrrr!"
Elno is proving to be as much an emasculated whiny ass as Zuckerfuck, Bezos, and TACO Tits. And with this new political party shit, he is having his engineers alter the responses that his AI returns. At some point soon, people are going to start ignoring any AI response to anything.
It's called "fine tuning" an AI model. After the model is trained, additional items and weights can be added, thus avoiding retraining the whole thing (very expensive, lots of time). For example, adding the term "Trump" and making that term's weight, say, -100000 would alter whether the term "Trump" was in the response. Remember: LLMs are based on statistics and weighing which word should come next.
Yeah, now Blondi's going to be part of teh DERP STATE and shielding the rich and powerful (but not Big Daddy, she's just betraying him by not exposing the rest).
Then there's also the article I read some months ago that says sleeping 8 hours at a stretch is an invention of the industrial age, and we're actually genetically programed to (I might have this backwards) sleep a short stretch, get up and be productive for a few hours, then go back to bed and sleep for a longer stretch before getting up for the day.
I read a book about nighttime and that stuck with me. People would go to be and then wake up for a bit like you say and then sleep. They might visit neighbors or talk quietly or whatever.
I find it works better for me (assuming the second sleep—doesn’t always happen).
A quiet hour awake makes me feel peaceful and less stiff from being in bed!
I've been sort of following this story ... most everyone agrees Velvet Sundown is a completely AI generated band, including all their (its?) music. But clearly some humans are directing the AI generation. My take? Yeah, OK ... if that's your thing. I still prefer human creativity.

I hate AI music even more than I hate any music with autotune in it. I stopped listening to the Thom Hartmann show because he insists on using that shit between and even during segments. His wife "creates" it.
Again, I feel compelled to point out that the argument over human-created vs. AI-created music is pretty much the whole plot behind the anime "Carole & Tuesday", and it's from 2019. I mean, that's not *exactly* what's providing the conflict, but it's close.
And of course, they gave us the awesome Mermaid Sisters and their hit song, and yes, this really, really appeared in the anime:
Not yet. I may donate them to the library and/or Internet Archive.

COCKSCKING BISCUIT. I’m in a tremendous amount of pain. Zero stars.
I’m glad you’re getting checked on—I went back over the overnight non comments to be sure.
I love all y’all.
I'm so sorry. I wish there was something I could do to help.
Just be you. My Wonkers are my everything right now.

When's the doctor!?
Not soon enough.
Edema? Or Compartment Syndrome?
Pain is keeping me alive?
Well, it doesn't exactly keep me alive, but it lets me know that I am.
I hope they can figure something out.
That’s me.

My favorite part of this story is that they are sending letters. I've been known to do the same when someone won't take my calls.
That is *exactly* what is happening here.

Brilliant. Tell me this man is not senile.
The tariffs, tariffs
There's gonna be tariffs for sure
Don't know what they are for
But tariffs will be tariffs

50 million is 0.1% of 50 billion.
Across how many hospitals though? That is my point.
I'm not arguing with your general point, just pointing out a math mistake. I have no idea how many hospitals this applies to, but if it is more than a thousand this is not going to be anywhere near enough.
$50 billion sounds like a lot. The MAGATs will be appeased.
I'm about to board my flight to Dallas. It's totally full, and someone has brought a screaming 3 year old. At least I didn't have to bring my own.
Hopefully you’re not flying from Australia.
Yay, they are about 4 rows behind me. I hope she wears herself out soon.
Put her in one of the overhead compartments.
I feel sorry for the three year old, having to shoulder the burden of making everyone's flight a little more stressful.
It's a lot of responsibility for a babby!
And they started early, in the gate area!
I once traveled, on a plane, with a then 5 month old and a 3 and a half almost 4 year old. Even the infant did not scream the entire time.

Man, fuck those parents.
I dunno, some kids are just assholes*. My mom STILL mocks me with a snotty "I wanna sit by the windowwwww!!!"
*I was/am a total asshole kid.
you can occupy even the snotty ones tho to keep em from screaming in public places XD
When Mrs. JC made the mistake of complaining to her mom about how stubborn our son was, she got laughed at. Loudly. (She's still *really* stubborn, but she was worse as a child.)
Hahahaaaa, she walked right into that one with her mom!
Yes!

"But President Manbaby, sir, the details of this economic plan are far too complex for even our brightest and most Nobel-winning minds to comprehend!"
"I said DO IT!"
"If this goes ahead- why, we could have an economy so economic it... it would..."
"Say it."
"It would end ageing!"
It's pronounced manBAHby.
Bad BAHby.

I'll buy it if it's a documentary.
