Yes, there are several mentors available so that if a student is poorly matched they have recourse. Its a really great setup. But of course the goal is my nephew's well being and best interests, so his mother has no problem with the school district being involved. Personally,i think that is what is most necessary to ensure the safety and education of homeschoolers

Um, maybe I live in a socialist dictatorship, but here in Connecticut, CPS would be all over this family like Butterflies on Unicorn Shit. Does anyone know if Alberta CPS can act independently of this judge, or have they done so?

(actually CT CPS is notoriously high-handed & has been used more than once for 2nd-hand harassment. But this couple deserves harassment.)

Snipping or tying the tubes of convicted child killers is a far cry from the arbitrary sterilization programs of Romania and China.

These people should be in prison for murdering their child.....negligent homicide or something. The father will not admit he did anything wrong.....no contrition.

It IS a totalitarian government if it controls who can or cannot have children but there has to be something that can be done. These people will just kill them all, if given half a chance. ...and they will have more and kill them, too.

So, we just sacrifice these children for the whims of these fucking freaks and our ideal government behavior. Disposable children.

A few years in prison would at least give the dad time to wake up to what he really did. Or court ordered therapy....something. There must be something.

I do believe those boys don't need David or Collet in their lives anymore. David and Collet have demonstrated that they're incompetent pricks who ignore the collected medical wisdom of our culture.

It really is funny that the moral opprobrium on the risk of prison rape shows up primarily when the possible victim looks like your average middle-class white person. Sorry, but any parent who orchestrates the death of their own child like this is beyond any sort of redemption. While prison rape is not, and never will be, something to trivialize; in the case of people like this the risk of it is a real potential consequence of their actions. Any consequences either of them get is deserved times 10.

No, this whole blog has a strict rule that prison rape jokes are bullshit, no matter whom the victim is. GTFO.

That is what I don't get. Why do they have custody? They aren't admitting wrong doing. What lesson have they learned? Will social services have ongoing contact?
