Are you aware that the Macron's also filed defamation charges against 2 French journalists over the exact same claim, and that the court dismissed both cases individually, saying that the Macrons failed to provide evidence of defamation or that the Journalists were acting in malice? I mean, everything else aside, one has to ask themself why exactly that could happen IN France. If it were up to me, Candace would sue you for defamation, cause it looks from my point of view that you are being overtly malicious and if not intentionally deceptive by omitting facts and distorting truths, you at the very least writing articles ob her having done a lackadaisical job in your research of her.

I see no evidence that she's mentally ill. Please don't stigmatize people with mental illness (who are way more likely to be victims than perpetrators of ANYTHING you'd care to mention) by saying these types of things.

Candace Owens is an unethical grifter. That is true and stigmatizes no one but its target.

I have a mental illness. It's depression and it follows from the abuse I experienced as a child. I am in therapy and on medication to manage it. It does not and could not possibly make me a lying grifter because you see, I am not a lying grifter.

Mental illness is caused by abuse, but the claim that those suffering from mental illness are more likely to be victims than perpetrators is not a coherently demonstrable claim. Depression is incredibly hard to deal with, I wouldn't minimize that, and I do feel for you that you have to live through that. But depression, despise it being listed in the DSM-5, is generally not what people like this author was referring to by saying mentally ill. There is no archetype of human called "mentally ill", it's about as vague as saying "disease". Like a person could have dermatitis, while another has lung cancer, and both have a "disease" despite having entirely different lived experiences. In the same way, you having depression where you deal with lethargy, exhausted, lack of interest in activities, anxiety etc etc is a different experience than a schizophrenic who is dealing with constant hallucinations and hearing voices 24/7. Im not even saying that one is harder than the other, but im saying most people understand how broad this spectrum is, and I dont think people will start stigmatizing those suffering from depression from some unknown substacker who got paid to write an op-ed ok Candace and ironically do something similar to what she's complaining about Candace doing, calling Candace "mentally ill".

Don't forget, we've all been remotely diagnosed with tRump Derangement Syndrome. Accusations of "mental illness" can backfire.

Damn, this woman has had four children in fewer than six years.

She's been a very busy superwoman.

I'd be squirrelly, too...

She is not crazy as a loon. Loons are fine birds and do not go around hollering that other water fowl are actually nasty and wily coyotes. She is simply a vicious, attention seeking bigot with nothing useful to occupy her time or bring her attention and applause. Kudos to those who seek to hold these cretins responsible for the lies they create and spread like manure on a field, only much less productive.
