As a Boston College M.A. and Pitt ABD myself, and a former clerical temp at Harvard & MIT, I get this sense of an elite college pissing contest.

I studied Soviet History. Stephen F. Cohen, one of the early revisionist historians of the Soviets, was a Columbia Ph.D., so they're alright in my book. He taught at Princeton, so they're OK too, despite being the "Southern Ivy."

Harvard and the Kennedy school, somewhat less so. I had a buddy who was a Cornell Ph.D., does that Johnnie-come-lately even count?

Shout out to the colonial foundations that are now public colleges (Harvard was one until the mid-1800's), William and Mary and Rutgers.

When I was 4, I loved Chagall, Matisse and Klimpt. Still do. Also I liked Alexander Calder and Jean Arp (I am weird). I probably would have related to whatsername? Celine? But the sinking ocean liner part would have given me nightmares for weeks.

True. If girlfriend had just moved her heaving bosoms to the side, DiCaprio could have fit his skinny ass right on there.

Well yes ok, but I thought that was really the dopiest feature of the movie. Why not build her character in some more legitimate way? Let's hear her talking to some women of her own age, to show us what she's like? Course there's no way she'd take her top off then.

Well she figured out one thing go with the right wing and spout some hate and they will fill your bank account with a lot of cash. The group she is associating herself with threatens to kill whoever disagrees with them just like Old Country guess she doesn't see the parallels whatever. So sister you're on the wrong side but enjoy your riches which wouldn't happen in the Old Country they'd be dragging off Momma to the work camp.

How interesting that the American right, which works tirelessly to make this country a one-party police state ruled by a hereditary dynasty which cannot, legally, be criticized, is now using North Korea's ideological Procrustes' bed as a crude club in its war on enlightenment. Especially since the leader of the rightwing death cult is a great pal and admirer of the leader of North Korea's death cult; King Donnie aspires to the kind of apotheosis that the Kim family has secured, in which the media can only discuss him and his family as the source of all good, the fountain frim which all blessings flow, the reason the sun rises. The parallels between the two totalitarian ideologies are far more intellectually notable than any strained comparisons with American academia's current self-questioning of its former rigid verities, and could fill bokkcases.

I read her book a couple of years ago. It was really compelling and I even felt sorry for her. Now I get to find out she won't respect my pronouns because that's somehow worse than being a North Korean re-education camp. Say what?

If you do not ask their pronouns you have to remember all their names.

I never defended Reagan. I did get in some "Who Sucks More" arguments about Reagan.

Near as I can tell, her academic accomplishment is having better grammar than Sarah Palin.

And for good measure, teach the students that Donald Trump's body is so well-balanced that he never has to pee or poop.

Holy false equivalence, Batman!

She's an incredibly selfish person who characterizes pronoun usage as "oppression", and can't seem to distinguish "justifiable criticism" from "censorship". She and her right wing benefactors will get along famously (until she outlives her usefulness as a token).

Not long. I'm surprised it hasn't happened already.
