I'm sorry people are dickheads sometimes - even good people. I had a similar situation here recently, when I was defending a friend who was attacked, so I can sympathize. Little or no support, which is not what I'd expect from people I've come to think of as "friends".
After pondering it a day or two, I decided that there is enough value to this site - in people and in commentary - to keep me coming back. Why did my "friends" not come to my aid? I don't know - there are many possible explanations and, in truth, I don't know anyone on here well enough to merit that kind of expectation. I can only a.) make damn sure *I* rally 'round my buds when needed; b.) hope they'll do better next time.
And as for the attackers - well, to quote my husband - "Now you know who to ignore in the future..."
