Since she has no experience running any news organization besides an online hit show after stomping away from the Times, my money is on the hunch that 18 months from now, about March 1, 2028, the Ellisons will hand her the pink slip because their ever-increasing debt from this year's media purchases combined with her failure to right the sinking CBS News ship is forcing them to trim back or else lose it all. And Bari will, no doubt, blame the anti-semites. Of course, it runs in that side of politics. "I'm infallible." Certainly. Is that a mustard stain on your slacks?
Isn't it fascinating that all these left wing men--especially the non-white ones--are so intelligent and charismatic and so very, very good at talking to people? Mike Rogers is clearly losing now, which I didn't expect but the Republicans are self-sabotaging. I noted in earlier posts that Rogers himself steered cleared of Islamophobia (attacking El-Sayed rather on grounds that he's "dangerous" because he said police shouldn't shoot as many people and maybe we should imprison fewer people, etc.) and seemingly got the national Republicans who were spewing that kind of stuff to cut it out-- but then he brings in J.D. Vance whose remarks were nakedly bigoted. His latest ads stress that he played football and his dad coached football and he and his wife are fans of rivals MSU and U-M, while El-Sayed said football was dominated by "toxic masculinity"; and this kind of "I'm a regular guy and he's a trendy-lefty" might play well, but the first version of the football ad had a line "...while they stand for men in women's sports" which quickly got cut out of the ad when perhaps it dawned on Rogers that this is no longer an applause line and hurts him with everyone who is not already a locked-in-MAGA voter.
