Much like "suspension with pay", this is part of the whole "innocent until proven guilty" thing. Yes, I know there's video, but there hasn't been an actual conviction yet. I don't like it either, but everyone gets the same rights. In theory, anyway.
It'd be appropriate to have millions of them displayed across the U.S. Of course the drivers with 'em would risk being shot at random by lovers of Trump and guns. I just saw a sickening, but of course not unique, story on Gateway Pundit concerning a supermarket worker in Georgia who told a scumbag named Victor Lee Tucker he needed to wear a mask on the premises. Tucker argued the point, left, and promptly returned with a gun, which he used to shoot the cashier in the head. The comments, of course, since this is Gateway Pundit, include "The idiot is laying on a cold slab! Should have kept her trap shut! LOL!!!!" Yes, four exclamation points, and a lot of acclaim in the responses. The more of these subhuman knuckle-draggers die of self-inflicted Covid-19, the less I'll experience sorrow.
He doesn't have to live in a Chicago suburb. He could easily live in the Polish neighborhood in northwest Chicago, which didn't seem to have any POC around when I would go there to a restaurant.
I can't respond directly to your post, so I am doing it through your profile page. Are there good police officers? Yes, but the bad ones make the good ones' job even harder and that is why the blue code of silence is so infuriating because they are hurting themselves by having these criminal thugs on the force with them.
I believe Chicago cops actually have to live in the city itself, but the lily white neighborhoods on the northwest side, like Jefferson Park and Edison Park, are home to lots and lots of city workers that don't want to live in the city.
Yup. Couple of weeks back I was driving by a local Church of God three blocks from my house. It's on a corner next to a bus stop and across the street from a high school.
Five pre-teen/ very young teens of color were walking together through the unmown grass towards the bus stop.
Sirens screamed and a cruiser lurched to a halt and a big bald cop hurled himself out of the car yelling "Hey!"
My partner turned to look. "That doesn't sound friendly." The light changed, and as we pulled away I locked gazes with one of the kids. Eyes like dinner plates. Afraid.
By the time we'd navigated back to the intersection, the kids were out of sight, the cruisers and a motorcycle had joined the nonexistent fray, and seven white guys with guns were standing around doing nothing obviously useful.
In that picture he looks like the stupid looking one from Friends. No, the OTHER stupid looking one! I guess they're all stupid looking. The STUPIDEST looking one. Yeah, that guy.

Indeed. The first rule of Crime Club is "How do I perform this crime without being caught?"
This is also the second rule of Crime Club.
Because if you're caught, what's the fucking point.
