Oh right, Everything is great and we have majorities in every state and control both houses of congress and the presidency. So yeah, things are wonderful and nothing should change.

'Pelosi needs to create the breathing room to bring about change...'

And she does this, how, exactly?

Take your time.

It's almost like they can't think of any other leaders in the House or Senate that have had a legislative failure in the past four days...

OK, lets look for a second at what Nancy Pelosi's job is. Her job is to keep the dems together in voting and, when in majority, to know if she does or does not have the votes for legislation and find a way to get them if she does not. Does she do this job well? Yes.

Is it her job to get dems elected at the state level? It is not. That job belongs to the DNC. Your complaint is with DWS, who is no longer the leader at the DNC.

Sometimes I think the far left is just as big an enemy of liberal policy as the tea party is, and have a bigger confirmation bias from articles critical of moderate Democrats and especially Hillary than the far right does. Despite Clinton soundly beating Sanders in the primary and getting millions more votes in the general election than Trump, the far left acts as though Bernie is the spokesperson for all the left and Clinton is a total failure and should be ignored. And their my way or the highway attitude means that they will never be able to actually govern if they ever get into power. Exactly the problem the GOP is having right now.

The far right, through years of attacks on Clinton, built a fake resume for her. They also have built a no compromise system of governing. But it is backfiring on them. The US will most likely never embrace a European style social democracy mainly due to the extremely high tax rates there. By the same token, I don't think they will abandon the safety net programs we now have.

The trick is going to be pushing those programs more to the left, meaning the majority moderate left of center Democrats and the minority far left are going to have to work together. The far left thinks that by striking out on their own, they will control the party when in fact, they are dividing it and ignoring the GOP. Which is sort of the GOP plan. And Russia's plan until they realized how incompetent Trump really is. It's time for the Bernie branch of politics to realize who the real enemy is. It's not moderate Democrats, it's the Republican party. And by trying to tear down Democrats you are supporting the GOP.

They HAVE to pull this sort of bullshit. They have no other way of going after her. Too bad for them it doesn't work either.

Elizabeth Warren would be a disastrous choice for President and the last thing the Democrats should do is nominate a past retirement white person for POTUS.

Tammy Duckworth yes, Elizabeth Warren no. Especially if Dems want to reign in insane military expenditures, they are going to have to nominate someone with hard core military chops to get it done.

Have a great day!

Okay. So what is to be done about that? I have no dog in this fight but I'm curious as to whether Pelosi fans think she's got this or not.

How about keeping in mind how old a person will be come 2024? Add on the years of stress that the job produces, too. One should really be looking for someone in their early 60s.
