I don’t “follow” him because I’m not currently on Twitter, but I’ve seen enough of his tweets to have developed the aforementioned crush. So smart, compassionate, and sarcastic - a trifecta that makes me weak in the knees!
Nina Totenburg is from an extremely connected DC family. And I entirely forgot about Cokie Roberts, whose father and grandfather were congresscritters.
That's the thing: It would be a conflict of interest even if Chris simply omitted reporting on Andrew at all - since not being able to talk about the governor of your state is a big hole in your reporting - but to actively seek out and discredit his accusers?
But what are the odds that, if Chris were a prosecutor, he would slip the defense some tips? Corruption isn't just doing bad things to benefit yourself. It's helping other people when you shouldn't. It's letting a social bond-- even a very powerful one like family-- outweigh an ethical obligation. There are times when people are more important than ethical abstractions. And then there are times like this.
When a company ceases to be an enterprise for the creation and sale of a product, and becomes a device for generating revenue, the greedheads have won, and it is no longer the same company.
Boeing doesn't design, test, build, and sell aircraft anymore. It creates shareholder value. The length of time in which a company can continue to create shareholder value without constructing a saleable product is quite long, since all the components needed for R&D, manufacture, marketing, distribution, and fulfillment of such a product are, from the shareholder standpoint, money pits whose resources could be better allocated elsewhere.
Eventually, all concerns become financial products, and financial products produce the most value of all, as they have no overhead and require no physical plant and the bare minimum of staff.
Ugh. So sleazy. Ta, Liz.
I read his book The Camera Never Blinks many years ago. I follow him on Twitter, also too.

Fire him or not and let's move on. Jesus, this trickle release of bullshit nobody cares about is so last century...
Point being, CNN was well aware and should have been hyper sensitive to orders from Chris to staffers to tail Andrew's accusers.
“Wedding girl.”
Gross. FOH
He’ll be working at Politico by next week.

I meant "spawn " in the ideological sense
