Not really. It's the word of Paul as translated by some angry Brits under the direction of an English King.

Do you know, he used to ask after my kids and apologize to me that I had to be away from them to cover the story. An asshole born and raised, but possibly a decent fellow.

Along with you, I wonder "How can this be"?.

The nation took a wrong turn somewhere and now travels a path where the only "real" Americans are the wealthy. The GOP Propaganda Machine blatantly buttresses this by misleading and duping huge numbers that they also are club members.

It would be just if the only GOP supporters were the victims of their misguided beliefs, but unfortunately life just doesn't work that way.

There's always a sober circle at Starwood, just sayin'! (Of course there are also temptations on every hand to indulge - its naked pagan hippie camp after all).I find the basic 12step model can be useful, if you leave aside any specific religious association (Came to believe I was powerless over good looking musicians with drug/sex/alcohol addictions and my life had become unmanageable..) But I use it more to inform a generically spiritual lifestyle (Buddhist right livelihood etc) than work a particular program.

And that was back in the early chapters, before that Jesus guy showed up to specifically outlaw slavery!

LOL, it`s so cute when people think the new testament was against slavery; Ephesians 6:5-8 (NASB): 5Slaves, be obedient to those who are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in the sincerity of your heart, as to Christ; 6not by way of eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but as slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart. 7With good will render service, as to the Lord, and not to men, 8knowing that whatever good thing each one does, this he will receive back from the Lord, whether slave or free.Christian slaves were told to obey their masters "for the sake of the cause" and be especially obedient to Christian masters:1 Timothy 6:1-2 (NASB): 1All who are under the yoke as slaves are to regard their own masters as worthy of all honor so that the name of God and our doctrine will not be spoken against. 2Those who have believers as their masters must not be disrespectful to them because they are brethren, but must serve them all the more, because those who partake of the benefit are believers and beloved. Teach and preach these principles.Christianity, that oooh so high ground of morality.

And that was back in the early chapters, before that Jesus guy showed up to specifically outlaw slavery! What in the goddamn fuck are you talking about?

Slavery is a Christian institution specifically outlined in the Bible as approved by God. Jesus never said a single word against slavery, but he told slaves to love their masters.

The only belief that seems to be shared by all Christian sects is that the Bible says whatever you want it to say.

Because Jesus effing Christ, saying the Bible is anti-slavery is like saying Mein Kampf is all about equal rights for minorities. You're taking the very document used to justify the entire atrocious history of slavery in the west and lying about it, and that's sincerely disgusting.

OK with respect to the animal haters, we shouldn't be slaughtering them like this in the first place.

So shoot me for being a vegetarian.

Second, enslaving people is illegal. Right? Somebody tell me I am having a nightmare.
