Oh great Eru in the Timeless Halls! Arwen barely HAD a character in the books; we don't know if she's meek or a shrew, really! And even then, the fact that she decides to forgo immortality for love, though schmoopy, indicates someone who knows her own mind and isn't just a dishrag.

And how does Eowyn's "true womahood" manifest itself? In dressing up as a man and going into battle and killing a Nazgul! Such dainty femininity!

Well, at least she didn't get into the only other female that really has a role: Shelob. But, then, she couldn't very well insult her mentor Sarah Palin like that, could she?

Can you believe I actually have never played any roleplaying game? But I do read the books, for enjoyment. I think that's a whole new dimension of nerdiness.
