And that is all I wanted (and, indeed, expected) from the Clinton campaign: Acknowledge that this thing happened, and how it happened. Now can we please get back to the issue of what the Republican party is doing about the hate-spewing shitheel who keeps popping up on their stage at their rallies?

My response to any and all Trumpsters, including family (in-laws) and "friends":

Forget you ever knew me.

It's that simple. I forgave a lot of people their Bush votes, but I will not forgive them Trump: http://www.nytimes.com/2016...

Are the Trumpsters using the Mooslim at the rally to cover for all the white supremacists Trump has hanging around? http://nymag.com/selectall/...

Me thinks yes: https://www.splcenter.org/h...

I watched that NY Times video. Well, I tried to watch it, but after three minutes I was so freaked out and scared that I had to turn it off.

My brother, who votes in every election but never, ever discusses politics, put up a Facebook post stating that he will not remain friends (FB and IRL) with anyone who supports Trump and/or engages in the kind of hate, cruelty, and violence that Trump encourages. When he posted that, he'd already unfriended two people, and and more since then. I suspect one of them is a guy he's been friends with since high school (so, around 40 years).

He is a cranky old man, but his rules for life are simple- do the right thing, and don't be mean to people.

Too true

I am a first generation Russian immigrant, and I saw the episode where he went to one of the floor shows at one of the restaurants in Brighton Beach. These are basically what would happen if somebody went to Moscow and told them about what a Vegas show is like, and then having only that information they decided to recreate it with half the space and half the budget. He came out with eyes the size of dinner plates, it was hysterical.

In his book (I haven't finished it) he talks about how he decided to become a chef. He says he was 14 when he started washing dishes at a diner. At one point a wedding party came in. Some time later the patrons noticed that the bride was missing, and the staff noticed that the chef was missing. Then the staff looked out back behind the dumpsters and saw an Italian sex comedy in the making. "That", he says, "is how I knew I wanted to be a chef."

More of the latter I think, but at this point every "against X" is implicitly "for Y".

Its not that I oppose war. Just when people who scurried into think tanks after playing a part in the Iraq mess come out and get involved in election campaign - it seems more like ratfucking than genuine support.

Amazing anyone would admit to that.

My brother is under firm orders by my mother not to mention his Trumpanzee bullshit around me, unless he wants me to remind him how big sister dealt with lip from a brat baby brother.

I don't think he's ever forgotten how that worked.

Apparently the original reporters did confirm it. Someone up thread has the links.

Jeebus, I move in pretty small circles, and usually say that final goodbye to at least two or three people a year. I'm pretty sure I did not murder even one of them (OR DID I?????!!!???)

I like how Cher uses a toilet to mean Trump. And everyone seems to know what she means. Is a toilet the universally accepted Twitter equivalent for Trump or did she make that up herself?

Oh, is THAT what that is? Couldn't figure it out - thanks!
