Paragraph by paragraph, yep, yep, yep...

In America, Klan governments are routinely elected at all levels. They are as committed to withholding democratic rights from those they deem racial inferiors as their robed and hooded forebears were in the last century.

Sadly, Joe Biden had one job, to stop him, and failed, making a bunch of excuses about preserving institutions. The "transnational criminal syndicate masquerading as the government" ie: the Epstein Class, owns both parties. Just this week just enough "blue no matter who" democrats voted for building out the surveillance state and give ICE more $$. People need to realize we are a mafia state that elections will not change. AIPAC will shape shift but still call the tune for the majority of Dems.

The fact that they're right now sitting on their hands and making excuses will not change after a "blue tsunami"

The next Democratic cleanup is going to take at least a full term of the next president, but one of the things that should be done IMMEDIATELY is to pass a Constitutional Amendment that stipulates that anyone with even one felony conviction cannot run for or be elected president.

It's apparently AI, based on what I'm seeing in the comments.

I think it's more likely to be basic photoshop, because he may not have been sleeping during that exact photo, but he was 100% drifting off and waking up constantly through that meeting.

This is a nice thought but it’s already too late for most republicans, and they will never get that smell off of them. Ever.

Teen Laqueefa's avatar

I think that's why many of them stubbornly hang on, hoping beyond hope they'll be able to keep their majority and their jobs.

It should follow them to their graves. Or prison.

We don't have until the midterms to wait. Trump is considering using nukes... we do not have months to wait to remedy this VERY BIGLY SECURITY RISK

When that glorious day comes, millions of republicans will don white sheets and stand on their roofs awaiting rapture with their leader.

Or just don white sheets. Most of them inherited them from their grandparents and great grandparents after all.

As good a piece as this is, it has an overall flavor of Murc's Law about it: Republicans have to be told to behave by Democrats because they aren't responsible for their bad behavior... they just can't help it!

They won't listen, they'll go down in flames and lie about their involvement when Orange Fuckface is finally room temperature and people will shrug and things will go on. Nobody will go to jail, the Dems will be too busy trying to shovel out what's left of the government when they finally take over after the grift machine bankrupts it and moves on.

I also suspect that the next Dem president will be completely neutered by restrictions on the office after Fuckface. 'We can't let that happen again!!!' so like red states do to incoming Dem governors, the office of the presidency will be completely locked down as to what it can do. The courts and media will carry on with their subterfuge.

Cheery thoughts!

helenasgarden's avatar

Stocks, tumbrels and guillotines have worked in the past. Maybe it's time to try something new.

Meanwhile, the Dems are praising Jeffries and will make him Speaker without hesitation.

VaselineHabits's avatar

We CANNOT do that again. People need to be punished, period. Frankly they need to be so scared that PRISON is "nicer" than what they KNOW they should be getting.

We need to quit allowing lying liars to get away with it. I don't give a shit if they're "too dumb", well maybe they'll LEARN something in prison.

Ford pardoned Nixon. Trump pardoned the J6'ers. People forget bad things that happened when gas prices go back down.

It's just too much work to hold people accountable, especially when partisan-held courts nullify their convictions. Steve Bannon is out shit disturbing again. Alex Jones isn't under a bridge destitute because of the massive judgement that hasn't been enforced. Fuckface can run wild and the Supremes have his back.

It will take a massive change to the type and style of governance. Billionaires and their influence will have to be chased out for things to ever become remotely normal.

calliecallie, aka pollyanna's avatar

"Billionaires and their influence will have to be chased out for things to ever become remotely normal."

Let's start with that then. End Citizens United.

Yes, that is an excellent place to start.

I studied 1984 and Orwell in college (in 1983 and 84!) - as I recently told a former professor, I feel like much of that study has prepared me for this moment in time.

We know Trump knew what Epstein was doing because he *told us he knew* what Epstein was doing. When the auhtoritays came sniffing around Palm Beach he told then that *everybody* knew, “and thank goodness you’re finally doing something about it!”

But the larger point is that every day the percentage of people who *believe* that Trump is implicated grows a little bit more. And *that* is what governs what people do. Not objective truth (at least not by itself) but what people *perceive* to be true is the base from which they operate.

Shorter, nerdier version: as the number of people who believe you’ve protected a flailing, bellicose pedoligarch approaches infinity, your career prospects approach its inverse proportionally.

The Wanderer's avatar

I would like to imagine the following if the Senate flips:

"The Chair recognizes the senior pedophile enabler from Florida."

"Hey!"

"Think about it, Baldy. Start talking; time's a-wasting."
