I always though Turnip2016 was just the logical extension of the current GOP battle plan, except on steroids. This is the same. Tucky is just their own schtick dialed up to eleven.

Wasn't Goldberg once known as the esteemed Doughy Pantload? Or is that some other right wing hack I'm thinking of?

Yep. Goldberg was, indeed dubbed "Doughy Pantload" back in the day. I also remember that his excuse for not enlisting to fight the Iraq war that he loved so much was because he had a small child at home.

Ask people like him what they think happened with Vietnam. You might be surprised to hear some of them say that the USA was 'stabbed in the back'.

TBF, and bearing in mind these people have no ethical sense, for Goldberg this was always about gaining money and reputation by dunking on the policy establishment (that’s centrist to liberal). It was never supposed to be about actually overthrowing anything or doing violence, it was supposed to be demagoguery as grift. The silly boob. I can see how he might’ve got confused, given he never believed anything he said. Kind of like how an honest politician in Chicago is one who once they are bought they stays bought, a Reaganite New Rightist is supposed to talk about ‘enemies’ while cutting taxes. Not actually believe the enemies are real.

You know things are bad when someone like Jonah Goldberg starts to desert what has become of the Republican establishment.

Not holding my breath that he'll quit Faux Noise; he's too much into the 'liberals are evil' grift.

On a side note, kind of funny that Carlson claims to take the high road on Iraq. He was a vocal rah-rah supporter at the beginning.

Because he is truly a horse's azzzzz.

I think Jonah Goldberg DID quit Fox News. If you read the last paragraph, he's talking about what a big financial hit it is for him.

Anita Bryant tried to get Ronald Reagan to fire all gay teachers. Even Reagan knew that nobody actually wanted to persecute gay people. He just had to make us the bogeyman, but Nancy was friends with quite a few friends of Dorothy, and his own son was rumored to be light in the loafers.

My take is: even Fox News doesn't take Fox News seriously, which may be why these guys left. These clowns actually take their bullshit seriously.
