Since all the pessimists are gathering in this subthread, I'll share my dystopian vision. The wingnuts and the yahoos win, and the world hangs on long enough for the future histories to be pecked out, word by mis-spelled word and sentence by tortured sentence, detailing the defeat of reason and the dying of the light. I confess I haven't done anything to fight it, but enough are trying that I can hope BMW is right. In the meantime, I believe I'll have another beer.
