Except when it comes freedoms involving religion, sexual preference and identity, reproduction and culture ("American culture" is a myth because it's simply an amalgamation of the many different cultures of immigrants). Then everyone must be in lockstep, the government must step in and legislate the hell out of it, personal freedom be damned. But freedom to breathe smog, freedom to drink sludge, freedom to make the planet uninhabitable, freedom to own a gun when you're so mentally ill you are incapable of managing your own affairs, freedom to be deny minorities the vote, freedom to live in poverty, starve and be homeless because you can't get a living wage, freedom to make the rich richer, to place the tax burden on the working and middle class and have colossal income inequality, freedom to discriminate, freedom to ram predominant but dwindling religious beliefs down everyone's throats, freedom to apply laws and punishments unequally, freedom to put corporate profit over the health and welfare of the public (even the father of modern capitalism didn't believe in that), freedom of the financial sector to put our nation (and the world) at risk of economic crisis or collapse - again, freedom to subsidize multi-million or billion dollar corporations, freedom to deligitimize the free press and judiciary, freedom to suffer and die due to lack of affordable or attainable healthcare and pharmaceutical companies' need for obscene profit, these are freedoms conservatives fight for. Very commendable. Why not just advocate for complete freedom? Then we can kill each other indiscriminately with bazookas with no fear of prosecution! Freedom is a buzzword that conservatives throw around, duplicitously and hypocritically I might add, but there has to be laws and regulations or else you won't have a civilized society, you'd have anarchy. And the majority of the "freedoms" currently being advocated by conservatives are not congruent with those embraced by the Founding Fathers who feared the corporate takeover of government and the essential enslavement of citizens, had an absolute belief in the founding principle of freedom of religion and in separation of church and state for the welfare of both, knew how vital the separation of powers was, often disliked but knew the necessity of a free press for constitutional democracy to survive (Jefferson said he'd choose press and no government over government with no press (and a deligitimized one is essentially the same thing), and could foresee our downfall at hands of a tyrannical demagogue if we let it happen.

It is NOT easy! For a person of average intelligence to become only "little bit smarter than right-wing voters" requires at least three or four strong whacks upside the head with a cast iron skillet. These people sacrifice to meet that goal.

The people who often rise to the top of a capitalistic system are socio and psychopaths. They are rewarded for having no conscience and murdering kittens and grandmas if it can spin a buck their way. Ayn Rand would be very proud of the current crop of acolytes. I was going to write an example but there are too many to cite.

What color is the sky in your world? Does the sun rise in the east and set in the west? Is there more than one moon?

Did you perhaps forget about the Dixiecrats and their all out bolt to the Republican party in the 60's after Civil Rights were adopted by the Democrats as something to strive for? Or their recruiting of right-wing fascist Christians by promising them that their theology would be enshrined in law? Do you not notice that the current campaign methods of Trump & Co. played to people's lowest, most base instincts almost exclusively? He embodied that drunk crazy guy that you'll find ranting in a dive bar perfectly.

Or are you simply another disingenuous alt-Right Troll who can't help continuing to manufacture alternate facts to suit your twisted narrative in the exact same way the Hitler and friends reimagined the history of Germany to suit their needs in the early 1930's.

The key thing between liberals and conservatives can be defined simply. Liberals are identified by what they're FOR, Conservatives by what their AGAINST. Quite literally a positive oriented ideology vs. a negative oriented ideology.

May I suggest to you, Clark, that responding to 4-month old posts is probably not an efficient use of your coveted prison library computer time.
