That won't happen until you are rounded up by the UN and put the FEMA camps.

Feingold wouldn't even run for Gov of Wisky. I like him, but he just doesn't want to do it. And, while I love the guy, he has pretty much cut himself out of the race by now. (Yes, yes, Nixon; but he had already been Vice Fucking President).

O'Malley seems like a nice guy, but as a campaigner he projects the woodenness of Gore and the uncertainty of Kerry (so far as I have seen). I'm not sure he can rock his way into the WH.

I also hate the idea of dynasties, although you have to admit that husband-wife isn't, technically, dynastic. But while the Dems have got a nice crop of prospects, there isn't an obvious choice right now. If Hillz falls over and can't run, our most likely candidate right now is Cuomo. I don't know about you, but this makes me hope she stays healthy.

Now, THAT would be some 11-dimensional chess.

I suddenly visualize nicely printed signs. It's possible that you could hand them out and the jackwads wouldn't notice to regret it until later.

They were almost certainly always going to do this. It took me quite while to accept the idea that the fucking system, approved in 2009, wasn't going to go into full effect until 2014.

But the amount of detail, and IT work, involved is enormous. Really enormous.

To get things going faster, it would have maybe made sense to set the implementation date as 2012. But politically, that would have been a disaster, since it was easily predictable that there would be hiccups and delays. I would have preferred 2013, but maybe the idea was to allow states more time to come to their senses(?).

Did I mention that getting the exchanges running is an enormous problem?

This move throws a curveball to all the fuckers who have been threatening to cut the hours of all their employees. It also leaves open the possibility of delaying the individual-mandate penalties if the exchanges are just not able to get going on time. And, regarding the "onerous" reporting requirements on employers: "We gave you a whole fucking year extra. How stupid are you?"

I'm not delighted about this news, but I've been expecting it since about 2010.
