We got to see many leopards when we were in Kruger National Park. We even got to see two mating!

The best way to see them there was to sit (in your car, because many big predators and also temperamental elephants) beneath a kill that they hung in a tree and wait for them to get hungry and come back. Awesome!

Ooooooh!!! I got to pet a babby black leo who had a whopper of a tail and was quite lively, not bitey!!

"These two rescue leopards are Shadow and Tequila..."

Which is which? A laugh riot this morning! I am!

My fascination with big cats goes way back, my folks thought it was like that infatuation with horses that some young women get...

Another GIF that delivers...

It's coyotes and crows for me

I had both fascinations and still do.

They're sisters? So, they badger each other and then cuddle up? Okay, then!

And yeah, I don't like Josh Shapiro at all. He sounds like a diva. And I certainly don't like Gavin Newsom. He's another one who loves the spotlight a little too much. And I hate, hate, hate to say this but America isn't ready for a woman president because the people who live in this country are misogynist, sexist pigs. If we are going to have to have a man run for president as a Democrat, it has to be someone who has a spine and balls of steel, who is a progressive, who will run roughshod over the Republican fascist and the oligarchs. It's a shame that Zohran Mamdani wasn't born in the U.S.A.

I like Shapiro as a governor but was glad she didn't pick him for VP, for a number of reasons.

The 1st amendment, the 3rd amendment, the 4th amendment,, the 5th amendment and at least the 14th amendment all kicks to the side of the road. And Democrats in Congress are too afraid to say "Abolish ICE"

"...Trump’s blather at Davos. They didn’t mention how he kept calling Greenland “Iceland,” but they got most of the gist."

Of course, KKKaroline wouldn't even admit that Trump misspoke - she maintained he was saying "ice land" ( as a place with a lot of ice ) rather than the country ( when he was supposedly talking about Greenland )

The stupidity contains multitudes.

The mendacity has no limits, too.

"Jeffries will personally vote against it but won’t whip his caucus to do the same."

He's admitted that he won't DO HIS FUCKING JOB and try to defend the Gestapo. If we survive all this both him and Schumer need to be brought up on charges along with the rest of the Republican party.

Shallow state's avatar

I am not sure how I personally feel about the acquittal of Adrian Gonzalez, but what it does do is put the absolute lie to the utter bullshit that all we need to do to prevent school shootings is turn the schools into heavily armed compounds; the naked reality is that even those armed, trained, paid protectors ultimately have no actual responsibility or accountability for doing anything even in the face of the most obviously horrific circumstances.

Pere Ubu's avatar

So police don't have to do shit to protect you, but ICE can just black-bag you off the street, but the police are there to defend property, only NOT YOURS, because ICE can now just kick down your door for no apparent reason because something something immigrants, and I guess the "Castle Doctrine" is out the window, even though America is awash in privately owned guns, so here we are, perfectly normal country, everything's fine

*restrained inward screaming and throwing things*

Satanic Pancake's avatar

I feel like guns may be part of the problem, not much of the solution.

Erika's avatar

I am one extremely anxious phone person so I regularly email my Congress people. Chuck sent me a long response that touted what he has done regarding ICE, but not saying if he's gonna try and help stop this round of funding... because why would he???? SMH

Anyhoo, my Rep in the House fucking HATES all of this shit, so he's def joining Jeffries. Having all Democrats as my reps is sometimes annoying, because they are generally voting the way I like. But I do bug all of them (Gillibrand has made some really shitty decisions recently). Sometimes I even send a fax from work (I work for a Doc, we fax shit all the time), just to really make a point.

Schumer is a fucking traitor. There's a fine line between incompetence and malice at the best of times and he marched over it a long time ago.

So I may be off base here but the guy with the AI delusions had problems with alcoholism and then finally went cold sober in 2023. Then became enmeshed in all these delusions. The dangers of Chatbots not having guardrails aside, my guess is that his episode had more to do with being a dry drunk and dealing with the long term effects of being an alcoholic for, I’m guessing, 30 years?

Someone like that is ripe pickings for a new addiction.

The G-7 Experience's avatar

People who are not alcoholics have "breaks with reality" as well so tread carefully when you attempt to diagnose from a distance. That machine clearly pushed him to consider it a partner and confidant- it's disgusting and should be actionable. His Mormon religion which had SciFi elements to it could also be a big contributor to a megalomania...don't discount that aspect.

Cincinnatus's avatar

He's also a dick.

"Trump bragged ― falsely ― that he “got great reviews” for the speech, which critics found long, rambling, and full of bizarre and outright false claims, along with his renewed push to take Greenland from Denmark. But Trump insisted the reviews were good, and not what he normally hears from the media. “Usually they say, ‘He’s a horrible dictator-type person,’ I’m a dictator,” Trump said. “But sometimes you need a dictator."

My triggered rant, the drop in Drumpf's approval on immigration should be considered a testimony to how cynical his base is. They always knew illegal immigrants weren't voting in droves, or taking desirable jobs or committing crimes against the general publicleft and right. They simply believed that cruelty to the disadvantaged would preserve their place in the hierarchy without any consequences for themselves. Now, even they can see what's coming.

Cincinnatus's avatar

Jesse, why would we state the obvious?

"Jesse Watters shared clips of some of the latest Trump criticism with his viewers Wedneday, including Gov. Andy Beshear (D-Ky.) calling the speech “dangerous” and Rep. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) likening Trump to a “4-year-old spoiled brat” for some of his latest antics and hostilities. “Is Trump a 4-year-old brat or an aging, mentally ill dictator? You gotta pick a lane,” Watters said after playing the various clips, adding: “Notice what they never call Trump: Dumb. Because they know he’s smart, and that’s what scares them the most.”"

Satanic Pancake's avatar

To a man like Watters, Trump is a genius, an intellect far mightier than his own.

Enter Ranting's avatar

I disagree. Jesse Watters KNOWS Trump is an idiot, but makes millions selling racist morons the bullshit they want to hear. There isn't a single person at FOX News who believes Trump's lies or thinks he's a brilliant leader. The entire corporation is staffed with people willing to sell out this country for a buck.
