I am not sure how I personally feel about the acquittal of Adrian Gonzalez, but what it does do is put the absolute lie to the utter bullshit that all we need to do to prevent school shootings is turn the schools into heavily armed compounds; the naked reality is that even those armed, trained, paid protectors ultimately have no actual responsibility or accountability for doing anything even in the face of the most obviously horrific circumstances.

I visit a mommy blog on the regular and my Beautiful Friend at the retirement community routinely sips her tea at a kaffee klatsch at her community center. (she often visits the gym after she gets herself pumped up on the tea getting spilled with the other grandmas).
We compare notes when I check in with her in the evening. She tells me what the grandmas say and I share some of the non comments I have read. There is definite overlap.
While the non comments yesterday provided a high level of analysis concerning a certain dementia patient escaping from his attendants and ruining a party in Switzerland the kaffee klatsch mainly kept it's reaction confined to a single word: "OY!"
I think the kaffee klatsch should be running CBS News. The grandmas know how to boil the story down to the essential truth.
