I also have nothing valuable to add, so I'm going to echo another poster pointing out this wasn't a typo - this was one of Bush's famous gaffes.

I somehow or another missed that one, but in my defense it was hard to keep up with the stupid coming out of that man's mouth.

Brooks wants to focus on "values" because he doesn't like Democrat's policies. Because he's a Republican who is embarrassed by trump. And he thinks people are only upset because trump is vulgar and gross and petty. But it's also the judges being appointed, the reinstitution of the death penalty, the dismantling of regulations that protect our food water and air, . . . IOW Brooks, it's not the tone, it's the policies. Republican policies.

I've seen a lot of my liberal friends sharing Brooks' column as if he makes any kind of sense. And it's not as if Wonkette can't do all of the above.

Shorter David Brooks "See what you wonky Democrats made us (republicans) do?!"

It's easy if you just remember no matter what, Democrats are always wrong and always to blame. Impeachment? wrong! No impeachment? wrong! Policy? wrong! No policy? Wrong!

Meanwhile, republicans are dismantling our civic norms and the rule of law at a rapidly increasing pace, which is apparently the Democrats' problem to fix because at some point we must have all agreed to never hold them to account.

And the policies of my er, accomplishments. And the size of my nonexistent wall. And of the piles of money I put into the hands of the Trump Organization, my family, my rich cronies, rich people who I hope desperately will accept me, governments of countries who murder people, andybody oh God anybody but the middle class or the poor.

" Being able to put food on your family is a moral issue. Being able to vote is a moral issue, one that people put their lives on the line to gain and protect. Healthcare is a moral issue, and people dying because they're unable to afford care or drugs is a moral issue, too. Being able to raise a family without the fear that a cop will shoot your child dead for the crime of being black is a fairly pressing moral issue. An economy that's tilted in favor of the very richest is, to put it mildly, a moral issue."

Thank you Dok!

No, Bobo: It wasn't material want, it was material need. Big difference between homelessness and "large spaces for entertainment"
