Oh really? Since they said it to the pollster, to the helpful young man from NYTines, on FaecesBook, they also held up a handmade sign for the news crew, and swore on a bible in front of the judge during their Jan 6 hearing. They ALL said it, so they must mean it.

I'd compare it to someone who defiantly removed the Seat Belts of Tyranny from their car and replaced them with their own restraint system, consisting of a noose around their neck attached to the headrest. Cause that'll show 'em, whoever 'em is.
True. AFAIK, a number of countries with universal health care still allow for private health insurance. The problem we have here is that the private health insurance companies have powerful lobbyists, and they don’t want public health insurance to expand beyond Medicaid/Medicare. (They’d probably like to get rid of those too.)
I’m still a long way off from being eligible for Medicare, but I got my insurance through the ACA when I retired at 45. It was WAY less expensive than COBRA. My current PCP doesn’t take that insurance, and I really like her, but it’s cheaper for me to pay her directly than to get a different plan where she is a covered provider.
Conservatives love to portray themselves as the “rational” actors who follow logic and reason unlike the bleeding heart liberals and yet all they ever do is complain about how liberals are mean to them. Oh, if only we weren’t so condescending toward them, they wouldn’t have to vote for the most racist politicians imaginable. They only act like Nazis because we call them Nazis.
Oh, and fuck Bill Maher. When was the last time he said anything worth listening to? We didn’t drive MAGAts to eat aquarium cleaner, or take horse dewormer, or inhale peroxide, or chug Betadine.
