But they weren't, back then, because "white" isn't really about skin color.

this is why you can't trust never-trumpers. they believe all of the same things, they just don't like his manners. as soon as he's out of office, they'll start with the "Trump was really a Democrat,".

Damnit Frum! I was (conditionally) rooting for you! I will never forgive him for “Axis of Evil” (which really doesn’t even make sense) but I’ll give him credit for having the chutzpah to write a piece called “The Conservative’s Case for Voting Clinton”. That must have cost him. He was one of the few conservatives to do the right thing.

This is one of those reminders that once you've seen the innards of an individual, they can no longer mask their gut with bullshit.Frum may not be a Trumpian zombie but he's no flaming liberal nor even a middle of the roader Democrat. He's neo-old school conservative if that makes sense to ya.

Make up your minds to it, there will be a ton of increased immigration to the US and Canada and Europe and lots and lots of other places, because climate change is going to screw up a lot of people's lives and livelihoods and they will simply have no choice but to leave. And they gotta go SOMEWHERE... We need to think globally about this! "You guys stay outta my pea patch" just isn't gonna fly.

Yep. We let them build the goddamn lifeboats in 2009, and we got snookered. Not this time. We need to shell their lifeboats (with votes).

"Liberals have to act like fascists otherwise the REAL fascists will take over"

"We have to murder babies so that REAL baby-murderers don't get them first!"

But seriously, I once saw a Wonkette non-commenter saying just this: "if liberals don't start excluding and harassing Muslims, then fascists will do it for us"

Just more blather based off the false premise that liberals oppose “border security”.

In this life, liberals have two proper choices:

Adopt conservative “principles” or conservatives will become bigger assholes, or get out of the way of conservatives so conservatives can become bigger assholes without hassle.

No, the ball joints are on the control arms. The CV joints are on the drive axle.

Sure! Ill sit over here with my little skillet full of leftover steak, mushrooms and onions, and you sit over there far enough away that I can't smell your slice of organ-meat abomination. Do enjoy it, I likely never will...

I've always been willing to try pretty much anything offered, and liver's one of the few things that prompts a regurgatative reaction, no matter how it's cooked. I'll still try it, but have the bucket handy. And the cleaning lady.

Ah. That makes more sense.

If your vehicle is like my pickup trucks, your front suspension consists of two horizontal roughly triangular "control arms", fastened to the vehicle frame with "bushings" (two per arm). At the wheel/hub/brake end of the control arms is an upright, often referred to as the "steering knuckle", which the hub, brake, and wheel mount to. The connections to the steering knuckle have to be free to turn side-to-side as much as your wheels do, and to pivot up and down through the full angle your control arms make. The best sort of connection for that is the "ball joint" (one per arm). Many vehicles with two control arms per side have a coil spring that sits between the lower control arm and a "spring perch" on the frame - this is what lets your car bounce. Usually the "shock absorber" is mounted through the center of the spring from the upper shock mount to the lower control arm; this is what keeps your car from continually bouncing.

There are also other designs with only one control arm and "strut" per side - similar idea, different execution.

Not touching on steering components or swaybars.....

Mostly clear?

The urgency of ball joints; if you've ever seen a single car non-impact crash where it looks like one of the front wheels was grabbed and ripped out from under the car (may still be attached, may not), that's likely a ball joint failure.
