I will always remember with fondness and gratitude the time Dear Abby bitched out a lady who was in HIGH CUNTY DUDGEON over someone buying fresh strawberries with food stamps. Shut your stupid face, she told her, and stop being a twat. It was good! It was back in the Ronald Reagan Welfare Cadillac Queen days, and it was such a strong stand for decency and keeping your nose out of other people's shopping carts and not strawberry-shaming the poor. It also reached millions of people through their daily "news paper," which was a whole other thing.
Mom had more than her share of faults, but she was a superb nurse and trained a whole generation of LPNs. Where health issues, such as unwanted babies and diseases were concerned, she was no-nonsense.
Good point, because that is a real "accident," an event that is happenstance and not predictable. That's why I use unintentional instead of accidental. With negligence, often the person who was negligent is not the person who pulls the trigger, and the negligence may have been longstanding until the final element, a child, enters the scene and makes the event highly predictable. This is the kind of enjoyable kibbitzing we used to engage in on the copy desk, while editing stories about unimaginable tragedies.
My boyfriend and I have lived together for the past two years, and he insists on turning the living room into a literal landfill! How do I get him to exert enough energy to walk 10 feet and throw his trash in the garbage can?
Sincerely,
Not So Mintie Fresh.

I've actually solved this problem, but hey, it should get you started :)
I would beg to assert that we are both right, that negligence is the causative agent and precedes every unintentional discharge.

Ah yes, the Classic Palin Family Photo.
Gun owners are automatically responsible until something goes wrong, then they are one of the bad ones who was never responsible in the first place.
Gun ownership cannot fail, it can only be failed.

It will ruin your life. It's addictive.
Childhood was thoroughly and irrevocably screwed the day the word "play date" was coinded anyway.

Sarcasm translates poorly into Internetese.
British humour, even moreso.
I understood your sarcasm, but then, I am a spacecat, and our native tongue is sarcasm.
My condolences.
It happens, no biggie in the over all scheme of things (for me) but thanks.
p.s. I'm living in London but from the States.
Upvoted for "abby-normal," which instantly made me think of this guy, https://uploads.disquscdn.c... improving my Thursday immensely.
Alas, Jeanne Phillips is not her mother or her aunt. They both were sensible and smart from growing up poor.
