So, if I'm to understand this correctly, the "stand your ground" folks think Ukraine should just hand their country over to Russia?

Yeah, that MTP clip with Zelenskyy really says it all:

Ukraine is very grateful for the actual *bipartisan* support that has been offered them by the US, but will *NEVER* accept any deal made between the Trmup regime and Putin. Because fuck that shit!

the thing that puzzles me, and that I have not seen anyone else mention so far...

Rump says he'll defend Ukraine if they turn over half of their mineral wealth to the USA.

That mineral wealth is almost exclusively in the territory that Russia has taken.

Hesgeth says there's no way Ukraine can have that territory back.

So, Rump is somehow expecting Ukraine to give them what he already gave to Russia? How the fuck does THAT work?

The "negotiations" aren't. It's two criminal assholes meeting to divide up the spoils of their latest crime.

Who the HELL would ever believe Pete Hegseth on the topic of what is realistic and what isn't? A joker with romantic ideas about how noble and great the crusaders were? At least half the time, they were attacking and betraying other Christians. In - I think it was the Fourth Crusade - they took over the Byzantine Empire instead of fighting the Saracens. Hegseth shows signs of wanting to start a twenty-first-century crusade against - well, maybe he isn't even sure himself against who. Against whom? Thanks. Possibly against anybody in his own country who declines to take orders from Christofascists.

And he's in charge of the U.S.A.'s defence.

If you don't know what Putin is up to, then you've been asleep (opposite of WOKE) for the past 25years.

Is Trump really a mad "power broker", or just a stupid old man being foiled by a group of young tricksters?

Honestly, at this point, I would like Pete Hegseth to defend my attic from squirrels. If he can get them drunk enough, maybe they’d retreat back past the pre-2014 roof line.

first it's squirrels, then come the raccoons. . .

The raccoons loooooove the scraps from my wife’s cooking. Long they held the upper paw, but after a long fighting retreat, the tide was turned at the Stalingrad of waste bins. Finally found one they couldn’t conquer. Not for lack of trying, judging from all the paw marks, but once defeated, they never returned.

How many Trump bitcoins did Putin purchase for Trump's favor? How about the Sauds, the Qataris? Why is the press not all over this obvious bribery/money laundering scheme?

People keep trying to decide if what DOGE is doing is "illegal", but NOBODY is asking the obvious question, (at least to me) "Why are they doing it" Using the IRS as an example, a treasure trove of data, Why??" If I seriously wanted to root out large scale waste and inefficiency. why would I need the personal information of millions of taxpayers? All I need to know is how much money is coming in, and how much is going out. How is that agency spending the money that is coming in? The precise micro-definition of the source does not enter into the equation in any way shape or form I am perfectly willing to have the muskrats look at efficiency and make recommendations based upon their studies, but that is all. They do not need absolute access to EVERYTHING in order to make said recommendations

"...the US siding with Russia over Europe or Ukraine."

Stop it. The US is not siding with Putin. Trump's minions are and they number less than 5,000 out of a population of over 300 million.

Trump and his minions are currently driving the USA bus. The bus is going to go off the cliff if the driver steers straight ahead, unless the passengers take action. I see that the bus is still going in the direction of the cliff so the passengers haven't stopped the driver yet. That means the driver is still in control.

So you're wrong, the USA is most definitely driving off the cliff right now. You can change it if you want, but until you do I won't stop telling you you're about to go off the cliff.
