Sigh. I've been tested. The head of security at our clinic and his wife have moved into a "COVID hotel" for the time being. All staff members who wanted a test got one in the clinic. As of yesterday afternoon, their results weren't back from the lab. Sigh.
Unless the force of law is behind penalizing people for noncompliance, nothing is going to change.
In conservative-leaning areas with low mask usage, the police absolutely will not enforce a mask law. They've already made that clear here in NC, and I see mask usage steadily declining every day. The other week I was waiting in the car while my friend went into a Sheetz, and I saw no fewer than 15 people come in/out, not a single one of them wearing a mask. Fewer than half of people at the gas stations and convenience stores near my house wear masks, including some employees. We're just well and truly fucked until a vaccine is available to the general public.
That ship done sunk. That warning is useless at this point, unless you are attempting to save face. You know what would help is if the data reporting was widely shared and accurate, the administration was making sure PPE was properly supplied to EVERYONE, and if there was a nationally coordinated lockdown and enforcement of masks. All of these things will not happen until sometime next year, best case scenario. That data has been manipulated and controlled since Birx promoted the change over from the CDC. It would help if the person sounding the alarm had done so before it was too late, and if that person was credible.
