Stallone sat out Vietnam in Switzerland. When asked to go on USO tour to Iraq, he declined due to the danger. Typical chicken hawk.

In "Rambo" he gave the line "they spat on us [Vietnam soldiers] when we came back". Prior to that movie and that line, returning soldiers told the Army their homecoming was pleasant, happy, positive. After that it became common knowledge that <strike>anti-war protesters</strike> Democrats, literally spat on soldiers. Stallone was only an actor-for-hire in this urban mythmaking, but I can't help but associate him with the slander.

In another "Rambo" movie his character fought in Afghanistan alongside the mujahideen which, in history, included bin Laden and later became the Taliban. Why does Rambo hate America?
