There is a real pattern of behavior running through the Trump's admin—domestic abuse with emphasis on coercive controls. Inverting the victim to be the abuser just because they speak up, and/or only defending themselves is the lowest level of psychological torture wrapped in the classic double bind. Those being harmed by domestic abusers are damned if they do, and damned if they don't until they find the way out for good. Who is truly damned are these MF abusers.

Nobody is assaulting ICE agents. That’s all.

Assaults are only up 413%. Come on, people! This is America. Where's that can-do spirit I remember from my kidhood. We put people on the fucking moon! We can do better than this.

Gestapo. G.E.S.T.A.P.O. = ICE/CPB Not quite but getting there. It is only a matter of time. But it is enough to equate them with the repressive secret police in Hitler's Germany.

The Gestapo was a crucial instrument of terror for the Nazi regime, primarily tasked with identifying and suppressing political opponents and anyone deemed a threat to the state.

This included political dissidents, Jews, Roma, homosexuals, and others considered "undesirable" by the Nazis.

They aimed to enforce Nazi ideology and eliminate any form of resistance or non-compliance.

2. Methods and Tactics:

The Gestapo operated outside the law and employed brutal methods to achieve its goals.

These methods included surveillance, arbitrary arrests, torture, interrogation, and imprisonment.

They relied heavily on a network of informants and collaborators within the German population, fostering an atmosphere of fear and distrust.

The Gestapo also played a critical role in the Holocaust, organizing the deportation of Jews and other targeted groups to concentration camps and extermination camps.

Ta, Marcie. Yes, Tim! I wish you were VP right now. This timeline sucks, apart from being married to my one and only true love.

There's a simple solution to this. If you don't want to be compared to the Gestapo, don't behave lije the Gestapo.

Good for Gov. Tim Walz!! He was right to call ICE Gestapo. Have we all seen the unidentified goons dragging legal resident students off the streets and shipping them to prisons in Louisiana? And are we concerned that immigrants granted legal residency by a court like Kilmar Abrego Garcia are then sent to a concentration camp in El Salvador for life? Due process? Noem has no clue! Nor do Trump and MAGA! They cheer when masked goons break car windows, invade homes, drag anyone accused of a crime (not proven!) to a plane and send them to a concentration camp outside the country never to be seen again. Hitler didn’t build camps in Germany, only outside the country. Do Trump, Miller, Bondi, Noem and Vance have a fascist mentally? Have you noticed their sadistic glee? They’re just getting started!

As a British lawyer I am astonished that people with their faces hidden can just come along and pick people up off the street with no ID and effectively “disappear them” with no warrant or accountability.

Is any count being made, and lists of names published?

So, if I'm to understand this correctly, they're OK with BEING Gestapo, but they don't want anyone to CALL them that?

By now you'd think they'd find "Gestapo" a compliment! Y'know, means they're ready to move up to the next step: "Stasi".

This is where we realize that abusers want the power that comes with terrorizing others, but want to be considered noble.

Of course Killer Noem is upset, although she misread the report and it was a 413 percent increase in "insults" of ICE officers.

Which is the least they fucking deserve.

which last I heard in the guise of "impersonating federal officers" was a crime even if Kristi Gnome doesn't know it

"If agents are indeed now more likely to be assaulted — again, unproven assertion — maybe that is because instead of detainees getting held and released, people know now that authorities intend to send them to torture prison forever, in a country they’ve never known, with no due process, even if they’re here legally with no criminal record."

`

There's an old joke to the effect that a guy is on trial for murder, and says he didn't do it. The judge asks him, "Do you know the penalty for perjury?", and the guy answers, "No, but I bet it's less than the penalty for murder."

If the alternative is being r @ ped by someone pretending to be Gestapo, or disappeared -- for NO reason -- by *actual* Gestapo, assault and battery is the lesser of the two evils.

Maybe WE'RE the ones who are going to have to start wearing body cameras, with footage streamed to an off-site secure location so it can't be seized and destroyed.
