So here's a little reminder of Why Unions Matter: they give employees at least a fighting chance against bullshit like this: Kip Hedges, a baggage handler at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport who had worked for Delta Airlines for 26 years, was fired by the airline after he spoke in favor of increasing Minnesota's minimum wage to $15 an hour. Delta said that he had been canned for "disparaging" the airline.
...as an associate with 26 years of tenure, this guy was probably making damn close to 6 figures. Even if he didn't speak out, he would've had a huge target on his back. Delta could probably hire four or five minimum wage level workers with this poor guys salary, they were just looking for an opening
Since United (crap) and Continental (reasonable) became a bigger crappy airline when they merged, I don't expect anything good will come from the USAir (fair) and American (crap) merger.
Thanks for making me feel guilty about taking Delta to England next week. I pick them because they have free booze on transatlantic flights, so it's going to be a tough decision next time around.
Beware, the new blue seats (mostly in ex-Delta planes) become horribly uncomfortable after a few hours, the red seats in ex-Northwest planes are acceptable.
Same mentality as Lord Ronnie firing experienced PATCO workers for striking as this would create a national safety issue but then hires scab rookie air traffic controllers, cuz that's so logical. But wait - now we have Ronald Reagan National Airport in D.C. AND Houston's is now George H.W. Bush Intercontinental Airport. My brain haz a confused.
Glad they can't fire customers, still waiting for someone to say something nice about them (a long wait for any american airline I suspect).
Delta invites healthy, constructive discussion across all areas of its business.
Kinda like the way a mousetrap sincerely wants to feed cheese to rodents.

Delta - Don't Expect Luggage To Arrive (because we fire the "mouthy" baggage handlers).

Well, I sure hate to see a good solid company like Delta besmirched and dragged through the mud by the idiotic comments . . . of their spokespeople.

If a statement of fact is "disparaging," the fault doesn't lie with whoever stated it.
