I agree that he should have resigned. But I have a hard time swallowing the idea that this fully grown adult journalist was somehow incapable of understanding how credible accusations work, that they would be investigated without his interference, and that it’s actually rather hard to prove those cases to begin with. His brother is powerful of his own accord. He didn’t require a ‘save’ from his brother, especially since his brother is a high-profile reporter who would automatically be seen as unethical for doing it, if caught.
I don’t think Chris is that clueless, and I don’t think he just couldn’t not help. I suspect this isn’t the first time he’s participated in helping his brother politically by using his connections, and to avoid accountability. He was just too comfortable with doing it and assuming it wasn’t a huge risk to his career, and an unethical and unnecessary thing to do.
I feel sorry for Gail Collins because it seems they saddled her with having to share her credibility with him in a weekly article written by both. Trying to water down his swill.
"Democracy" was bumping along down the narrow road with deep ditches on both sides until 1974. Ford pardons Nixon. The populace just shrugs. Democracy starts to wander dangerously close to the right side ditch. Stay tuned, will democracy steer back to the center? Doesn't look like it.
I didn’t realize the universities were handing out GOP membership cards.
like rats off a sinking ship but obvs they aren't rats...damn it.
Free? So tuition at this butt licking paradise is free?
This is bad for all of us (I hate autocorrect) he is a great man.
Because that's what they want you to believe. Because all their whingeing about virtue signaling was as much projectction as anything else.
Anybody else unclear on the idea that Trump was a strategic investment for Republican donors?

My favorite was a hairless rat named Esteban. I bawled my eyes out when he died.
Clearly their sinecure > the public good
Defending him makes you not a reporter but a pundit. You cease being a journalist then.
They're saying that they approve of nepotism for them.
I think it's worse- they think their sinecure is the public good.
Sorry, but you reminded me of this, so of course I decided to clutter up the threadhttps://youtu.be/cwIsAttR6-E
Insofar as they deign to ever think of the public at all.
