I sent him $50 because he seems like me if I had lived up to my potential.

Noem will never willingly go back to Dirtpile SD— she done seen the big city lights, from her Reverse Cowgirl on Corey vantage point.

Well, a Republican isn't the answer. Here is my post to my senator, Senator Budd, and then posted on Meidas Touch this morning:

Republicans do not have a clue about anything connected with governing a nation. They are a bunch of hapless weasels who just want to talk about what they have planned or complain about what others are doing. They let Trump run the ship of state onto the rocks because not one of them is willing in to step up and actually take the helm. They just don't. If anyone tells me that a businessman can run a country, I will tell them to go take a long walk off a short pier.

Hey Mike "I are a Amurkin senator" Rounds: those drugs don't traffic themselves! It takes real Venezuelan turrish to get them tons of fentanyl into Peer (ed: how the locals say Pierre).

I'm still rolling my eyes upon reading a posting on the local "Next Door" feed from a woman who wrote something to the effect of "I know everyone is politically worn out these days, but..." segueing to how her husband is running for a "non-partisan" position as a local who "cares about our community." Then, after someone asked if this candidate was going to have "new ideas" the candidate himself responded (on his wife's account btw) with "I see that you're a typical liberal..." Sheesh. Tell us you're a MAGA who smells the taint of the GOP, or at least your WIFE does, without telling us you're just another Trumper. Glad you're not running in my district, Ace-hole.

I used to live in Onida, SD. They named it after Oneida, NY, but they spelled it wrong. That tells you a lot about that town. South Dakota was just an awful place even before Fox "News".

According to Wikipedia, its population in 2020 was 666! Yikes!

What dipshit decided we needed two Dakotas?

The Republican senators who wanted to game the Electoral College back in 1889 to give Benjamin Harrison an edge over Grover Cleveland.

Dok, do we know what his position on Native Americans is? S.D. has a large population of them and their welfare is important to me.

Did you check Beng’s website?

Nope, probably should have.

Republicans seem to have forgotten that food stamps and a large chunk of foreign aid were devised to be aid for farmers.

In other “hopeless” states, Cornyn (R) in Texas beats Talarico and Crockett by single digits (but it’s really close), while Paxton (R) beats Crockett… but is LOSING to Talarico by 3%. So you’re saying there’s a chance!

The issue I would run on is that the problem is the parties, both parties. The parties have far too much power in determining who runs in the general elections so that the people running represent the big money behind each party and not the voters. If you are running against an incumbent I would ask if that person has used his time in office to enrich himself as opposed to serving the voters that elected him. I also would ask if anyone who is rich can understand the needs of the average voter. In South Dakota I would ask if you senator or representative is representing the family farmer or big argibusiness? I would ask the voter if they think the real underlying problem is the corruption of the electoral process by wealth and if that is why their situation never improves?

Full disclosure, I am contributing to Bring Bengs campaign.

My mom's sister and family lived in the same small farm town my dad grew up in. They went from respected members of the community to pariahs the instant my youngest cousin married a Black man. To defeat a MAGAT in SD requires overcoming a very deep racism.

I voted for George McGovern in 1972 and I'm proud of it. The Re-publican party stole that one too.

A little over 20 years ago our entire Congressional delegation (total of 3) were Democrats! The party just decided we're not worth the effort.

That's the mainstream media dong its job, propagandizing people to vote against their interests, and continuously moving the Overton rightwards.

You don't have to be that old to remember when Ohio and Florida were swing states, and Iowa was solidly Democrat territory. That's all gone forever now...

OT:

Arnold is a goose. So is his lady friend.

Arnold was hurt, and taken to the animal hospital. His lady friend hung around outside the door. She wouldn't leave his side.

Such is love.
