So... the man who cheated on all three of his wives, the man who couldn't pronounce "Corinthians", the man who had a fake children-with-cancer charity, the man who can never accumulate enough money to satisfy his greed (or have the discipline to keep it) - he's the one we should support for Godly reasons?!
Pardon me, Rev, but your god isn't wholesome enough for our atheist household. Take your bullshit elsewhere so I can clean and sanitize the floor where you stood.
My middle child, 38 now, told me that he and his two siblings all had chicken pox, pre vaccine.I don't remember it but I was working my ass off at a meat grinder law firm (GTH) at the time. I had it in the early 1950s. I remember having the mumps much more clearly because it hurt so much and left me deaf in my right ear.
So it has been for a long time, perhaps because one has always been sure who one's mother is but it is a wise child who knows his father (until recently) and the rabbinate is not quick to adopt change
Nobody was insisting on telling anybody about their religious beliefs. Nobody was or is expecting you to agree or find them reasonable. The meme didn't address the beliefs; it addressed people with those beliefs. Big difference.
And I'm not arguing for theism here. Sheesh. I am arguing for not being a dick to others. Some liberals are believers, and I think they deserve just as much dignity and respect as the non-believers. They shouldn't be made to feel like outsiders.
Now I know you personally might not have been agreeing with the meme but was instead trying instead to head off anybody trying to "push religion." Nope. Not where I was going. To me, religion in its various forms wouldn't have lasted for the thousands and thousands of years it has if it didn't have some kind of evolutionary benefit for homo sapiens. So people merely having a religion isn't bad, and they shouldn't be shamed for it. (Now how they behave can certainly be called out, but that meme wasn't addressing that.) To be clear, people not having one isn't bad either. I am aware that any evolutionary significance of religion might be neutral rather than beneficial.
Sorry if I came off that way. I don't agree with you about why people have religion or whether it has benefits but I don't need to argue my views unless someone does "push" religionl. In the U.S. religions are vigorously promoted as showing virtue, both in public discourse and (see John Kennedy) in politics. I don't like that intrusion, that's all. Also I must have missed the meme so just take my post as stand alone.
I wonder how many underage congregants he's gotten his paws on?
Don't kid yourself, Greg, his whole family and everyone on his staff have been vaccinated. He's just Paula White in a human male suit.
Certainly I don't. Just don't insist on telling me about it and expect that I will find your beliefs cogent or reasonable.

Gets paid. Otherwise he'd be playing cheap beer bars for tips and drinks.

No it's just part of the grift.

Huffing GO was big at the junior high I worked at in the early 70s. OTOH, it only took once for permanent brain damage or death.

I’d prefer sex by the pool. Not that THAT’s ever gonna happen. This summer in the Northeast you’d both have to be wearing a fleece jacket. At noon.

This is not a religious organization. It's a political organization. They need to be paying their fucking taxes.
Except for that pillow guy, does anyone actually smoke crack anymore?
Gotta skip to the end here, because Canadian Dairy Commission needs an immediate LOL.
