Since I don't know from Philly - are the mummers the ones who fled, or the ones they were fleeing? (I'm really only familiar w the Brit xmas customs meaning of the term)

Ancient history, but I haven't been on here in a while. The mummers here are just a bunch of drunken racists. Not sure if that parallels the British variety. They fled the city to avoid being near minorities. They come back once a year to cause us pain.
