Hey remember the history liars at Dennis Prager's "Prager University"? Since their bullshit video about how Democrats are totally the KKK got tweeted all over the place after Kanye West got history all wrong a couple weeks back, they're hoping that the magic will strike twice. So now they're reupping a 2017 video that pretends to debunk the notion that there was ever any such thing as the "Southern Strategy," in which Richard Nixon decided to get real jiggy with MORE RACISM. No no no, say the erudite fellows of Prager U! The only reason the parties realigned in the South is because Republicans won over the region with their message of
I'm sure Prager U has a video explaining that Trump can't be owned by Putin or anti-Muslim because Ronald Reagan, a fellow Republican, once armed the mujahideen against the Soviet Union
The line's known from Mythbusters, but I've heard it in a weird, bad 80s fantasy-sf hybrid movie, titled Dungeonmaster or something like that. I've wondered if it's one of the movies Savage &/or Hyneman worked on.
Ding! I didn't even remember where it originated from, I first learned about it as a meme and that stuck with me.
The quote "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" (said by film character Paul Bradford) was later popularized by Adam Savage of MythBusters. -- from the Wiki page for The Dungeonmaster (originally titled Ragewar: The Challenges of Excalibrate...!!!)
Wars are terrible things ,and he spent " three years " , fighting for his nation ,as ordered to do - people died. Ideology comes and go.,people die ,innocent and guilty on every side in horrible war . He came to ' HATE all wars .
Probably not. Their exposing the belief that the Confederacy wasn't about slavery, is something that a large number of the Republican base today don't want to hear, especially in the South. If anything its probably more of a case of a Broken clock being right twice a day.
With the endless shit sandwich that is the GOP, I feel that Nixon is going to be the most likable Republican President in my lifetime. Reagan and Daddy Bush were cardboard cutouts and W was a fucking entitled self-important weasel who didn’t realize he was president because his dad had work left to do from his one term as president. Trump is a moron who thinks that money and self-absorption count as a personality. Nixon wasn’t likable, but he was at least able to accomplish a few things that weren’t for the sole purpose of torturing poors.
It actually means that a large part of our country is racist as fuck and simultaneously too chicken shit to admit to it. Objectivity never mattered since the constitution was written by slave owners to create freedom.
My grandpa - b. 1897 I think? - used to mutter about 'commonist Democrats', so i suppose we know how he voted. Otoh, I have a small antique abolitionist pamphlet that has HIS father's name inscribed on the inside front page, so he too may have had a hard time updating his view of Ds vs Rs.
No one in today's right got there on the basis of their probity and unwillingness to lie.

I'm sure it's just a way of preparing their audience for the further videos explaining that the pro-slavery Southerners were all Democrats.
Yeah, but it turns out he was gay, so it didn't count.
Maybe we can convince conservative Southerners to take down Confederate statues because they all honor "Democrats".

Decided to look into Savage's credits myself. Doesn't look like he was active till a bit later, though he could have seen it at the time it came out.

The problem they run into is that while they are “winning”, everyone else moves on without them.
“I won the argument!”
Of course you did, everyone else left.
