Man, is this guy ignorant. It is against Federal law to require polygraphs of anybody. Anyone subjected to a polygraph in a Federal workplace could sue the agency up the yin-yang.
I saw an expose on the junk science of "lie detector tests" on 60 Minutes. This was 40 years ago! So for 40 years we have known them to be bogus. Here's what happened.
60 Minutes wanted to test out the validity of polygraph science. They approached a well known firm with a good reputation. The producers of 60 Minutes approached the firm and told them (falsely) that some camera equipment had gone missing from their office. They also told them (falsely) that they had a suspect in mind---the one African-American producer on their staff---but no proof.
So the firm came in and polygraphed everyone in the department. Naturally, voila: they discovered from their exhaustive testing and "galvanic skin response" that the "culprit" was the black guy.
Now, you might argue that this was a dirty trick to play on the company. But it clearly showed how customers of polygraph firms are influenced by cultural prejudices, the firms themselves are so influenced, and the results tend to bear out pre-existing biases.
I love Adam - I know some people find him irritating but I just want him to follow me around dispensing random information in exchange for treats and typing it out just made me realize how creepy that sounds :P
Too late. He's already out of his mind.
