This is sad. She should be home enjoying her golden years playing mahjong, and watching her stories like the other grandmas.

Michael Jackson was a true visionary

Back in 1981 he told his plastic surgeons “make me look like Dianne Feinstein in 2023”

I helped an elderly neighbor with shingles. Definitely NOT lidocaine in his patches. It was fentanyl. I had to wear gloves to handle the package. He slept for hours with that patch on.

I wouldn't expect that man to participate in meetings all day. But if Diane won't resign, what choice is there?

Stephen, you’re truly a gifted writer. Thank you for this.

Fetterman did it right.

Not funny.

Among other things, he had medical issues

I've urged my reps for weeks to speak out. As a Californian it is just incomprehensible that we must all endure her clear decline. Californians don't deserve a light schedule Senator representating us. For fucks sake, they only work 5 hours a day, 3 days a week with 4 weeks recess once a quarter... how light the fuck is that!!?

I just don't see the abuse part of this. She's got a significant net worth and access to an impressive pension & benefits package, and I'm sure Dems would prefer a more reliable vote. She's making the choice not to retire because she's too stubborn and has an unrealistic idea of how essential she is.

Honey, his “medical issues” was drug addiction and molesting children

I'm not going to touch the child molestation business. But he got his procedures for a reason and the doctors fucked up. Whatever he did or didn't do, nobody deserves that.

But he got his procedures for a reason

Yeah, he wanted to look more white Hence the angloized nose job he got

I think the abuse thing has more to do with her staff, advisors, and congressional Republicans for not allowing her to be replaced on Judiciary

That's inaccurate

I think the USA just has one of the most unhealthy attitudes to work in the world. You're encouraged to define yourself almost entirely by your career, annual leave is something to be ashamed of taking, and the entire set up of your country is designed so that the majority of people have to work until they drop dead.

This is the result of that.

Good for you, Stephen. We are living in strange times, when the gop figurehead is a serial abuser of women and humanity in general, and a pathological liar. We have elected officials pretending the 2020 election, proven to be secure and fair, with even fewer than the usual few bad/questionable ballots than normal, was somehow 7 million votes off, an absurd and specious claim. Elected officials openly insult judges and tell Americans they cannot trust the court system, simply because someone on their side got caught. People are boycotting beer, or shooting it, because a trans person was celebrated for her individuality. And we have elected officials a couple decades past retirement making vital decisions they may or may not be fit to make. When a healthy Dem or ‘Pub is elected and later suffers a health crisis, they should be able to appoint their substitute. Every vote in Congress matters. But if we are wheeling a confused, ill, and unwell Diane Feinstein or anyone else into Congress to vote, the political games have gone too far. It feels like the issue of elderly leaders possibly being unfit is off-limits. Ageism or discrimination, etc. But neither party should have officials dragging themselves before congress in their final days. We have millions of intelligent people in their 30’s, 40’s, 50’s, 60’s to lead us. The problem is very few highly capable people want anything to do with our political system, and who can blame them. We need serious changes, starting with campaign finance reform. Remove the money, remove the corruption and take power away from dark forces, and good people will run for office. We would all benefit. I like Joe Biden a lot. But he isn’t going to beat Father Time. 2024 is going to put this issue under a high-powered microscope. Maybe it should.
