Hey, you folks who live in states represented by United States Senators who are not unprincipled hacks with only a passing relationship to reality, we must ask: what is that like? See, here in our beloved adopted state of California we are represented by one Dianne Feinstein – or DiFi if you’re nasty – and good Lord and butter would we like to read one thing about her that does not make us want to stick a piano wire through our eyeball directly into our brain and then swirl it around for awhile.
1. gorgeous 40 year old with exotic mediterranean accent. holding down 2 jobs and still needs foodstamps. got health ins today.
2. weary 58 year old cleaning (4) houses every week. daughter in college determined to go places. both got ins today.
3. 60 something wealthy widow. husband died of debilitating illness, private ins dumped him. family has reduced means due to aforementioned debilitating illness. whole family got ins today.
4. married couple. independent artists. she: uninsurable pre existing. they: modest salary. got ins today.
5. and my favorite: african american dude on medicare in subsided living facilithy: "why are they so hostile to obamacare". could not answer him. or give him insurance.
fuck you dianne, fuck you bill clinton. fuck you repubs, and fuck you unhelpful progressives (yeah paleo, i'm looking to you) with your unhelpful progressive bullshit. quit bitching. suck it up, get out there and help.
I think they're whistling past the graveyard. Consider the last sentence of that piece: "Landrieu's gambit is genius." That's Mary Landrieu. How ca HAHAHAH n you ta HAHAHAHA -- sorry cant finish bye.
Obama promised people would be able to keep their existing insurance plans, but the Republicans promised there'd be death panels. Everyone, call your Senators and tell them "I WANT MY DEATH PANELS!"
Oh fine. And down here in Loozianne, to balance the author of this Tay Bridge-level train wreck of a bill, we've got -- David "Vitter" Diaper? And the NY Times recently rated it a tossup whether she'll be replaced by Bill Cassidy next year. Landrieu is the walking definition of "lesser of two evils". You smug, suntanned so-and so's can choose to regard your glass as half-full. Ours has been drained of its last dregs, and we're merely grateful it hasn't been smashed in our face yet.
There are two things in Landrieu's bill that don't suck: it forces insurance companies to continue providing crappy coverage, but doesn't allow them to sell any new crappy policies (unlike the bill floating around in the House); and it requires them to explain WHY the crappy policy is crappy.
It seems to me that there are a lot of policies being cancelled because they "don't comply with the ACA", and there have been at least a few instances where the cancelled policy doesn't look to be complete crap. What never seems to come out is what was wrong with the policy. (Not that I think that any insurance company would use the ACA as an excuse to just cancel a policy as a method of upselling the insured).
Those 2 things are what I noticed. And it does put the GOP in the position of voting to have government tell a private company what to do or else look like hypocrites over this. We'll see
Dems really do have a knack for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
Someone in the Democratic Party leadership needs to dope-slap these idjits ASAP, and point out that people with cheap, shitty policies are basically uninsured - and letting them carry on is little different from letting the uninsured carry on.
With members like this, who needs an opposition party?
a thousand times: this.
hi bitches; reporting from the trenches.

Actually, in this case, I doubt that it has to do with getting re-elected. She isn't up until 2018, even if she lives that long.

This is Dianne Fucking Feinstein, one of the most conservative, big-business, Democrats of the last thirty years.
Sigh. This is why we can't have nice things.
In this regard, they are following the lead of the master: Bill Clinton - a man who stands for nothing, unless it's good for enough votes.
Can women be wankers? Cuz, I think Feinstein is a total wanker.

DiFi still sucks, regardless

"Party leadership"
Hahahahahahahaha!!!! That's the whole problem- the very idiots shooting themselves in the foot ARE the supposed leaders
