PISSED.
California Democratic Senator Dianne Feinstein is fed the fuck up with Donald Trump and his justice-obstructing ass. She is not taking kindly to Trump's bitching and moaning on Twitter about how he is being "witch-hunted" by the person who "told him" to fire the FBI director. Of course, Trump is pretending Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein ordered him to do that, but as far as we know, the only person who "told him" to do that is Jared Kushner. Stop investigating Ivanka's dad, JARED! Rude!
Feinstein is the ranking member on the Senate Judiciary Committee, which has oversight over the Department of Justice, and she's saying OUT LOUD that she's worried Donald Trump, in the middle of a sticky orange night sweat, will get mad and fire not only special counsel Robert Mueller, but also Rod Rosenstein. Here, have a full statement:
“I’m growing increasingly concerned that the president will attempt to fire not only Robert Mueller, the special counsel investigating possible obstruction of justice, but also Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein who appointed Mueller.
“The message the president is sending through his tweets is that he believes the rule of law doesn’t apply to him and that anyone who thinks otherwise will be fired. That’s undemocratic on its face and a blatant violation of the president’s oath of office.
“First of all, the president has no authority to fire Robert Mueller. That authority clearly lies with the attorney general—or in this case, because the attorney general has recused himself, with the deputy attorney general. Rosenstein testified under oath this week that he would not fire Mueller without good cause and that none exists.
“And second, if the president thinks he can fire Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein and replace him with someone who will shut down the investigation, he’s in for a rude awakening. Even his staunchest supporters will balk at such a blatant effort to subvert the law.
“It’s becoming clear to me that the president has embarked on an effort to undermine anyone with the ability to bring any misdeeds to light, be that Congress, the media or the Justice Department. The Senate should not let that happen. We’re a nation of laws that apply equally to everyone, a lesson the president would be wise to learn.”
We explained the other day that, if Trump wanted Mueller gone (which would only make the case against him WORSE), he would have to direct Rosenstein to do the firing. Unfortunately for Trump, Rosenstein would probably refuse that order. It's possible Trump is so fucking stupid he thinks he could fire Rosenstein, nominate a new person to be Deputy Attorney General, and the Senate would be like "This is totally normal! We will vote unanimously to confirm the replacement for the guy you fired because you don't want to be under investigation anymore! Who is this new person anyway? Eric Trump? Your goon lawyer Michael Cohen? All of this is just lovely."
While we wonder at Feinstein's assertion that "even [Trump's] staunchest supporters will balk" at an attempt by Trump to place himself above the law -- because his staunchest supporters are some IDIOTS -- we do believe Republican senators like Richard Burr and Old Butterscotch Farts McCain would be like "HENNNNNNGH?" And that's without even mentioning senators like Lisa Murkowski, who haaaaaaaaaaaates Trump, and was actually the first GOP senator to openly support the appointment of a special prosecutor.
Of course, it's possible that Rod Rosenstein may have to go to Recusal Jail with Jeff Sessions, since he wrote the "Hillary Sux" memo Trump used as a cover for firing FBI Director James Comey. In other words, he could be a witness, at least for the obstruction of justice part of the investigation.
Maybe Trump thinks the next person in the line of succession -- Rachel Brand, a Trump appointee -- would do his dirty work. But if this quote from a Washington Post profile of Brand is any indication, President Baby Hands might be shit outta luck:
“I’m just delighted to be back,” said Brand, who ran the department’s Office of Legal Policy under President George W. Bush. “I love DOJ. I have a great amount of respect and affection for this institution.”
Fuck! She respects the law and loves the Department of Justice! Is there NOBODY around here who will unquestionably take orders from Donald Trump, the Constitution be damned?
We don't know what Trump's next justice-obstructing move will be, but Dianne Feinstein is right to be worried, and we're glad she's ready to fuck him the fuck up.

It's always reminded me of the old Gillette commercial theme from the '50's.
