Dick Armey sure seems like a jovial fellow, especially considering how often someone named "Dick Armey" must have gotten cruelly mocked as a child. In a lackadaisical interview with the Texas Tribune, he vaguely praises Rick Perry's political opportunism, casually notes that Tom DeLay was a free-spending jerk, writes off Barack Obama's 2012 chances, and professes his deep and abiding love for his sexy, sexy goats.
Whoa, slow down there Sigmund Fruhlinger. Dick Armey can be president and fuck his goats while said goats softly graze upon the arugula left behind by the soshulist nazis! Hooray!
"Barack Obama, when he ran for president, won a talent contest. "
Obviously the Repubicans use different criteria when choosing their candidates. Let's look at the record: McCain-Palin, Bush-Cheney, Dole-Kemp, Bush-Quayle, Reagan-Bush. Safe bet for 2012: Inhofe-Angle.
There really is a bias within GOP toward people with little or no government experience. They like outsiders. People like Steve Forbes, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Alan Keyes, Carly Fiorina, Linda McMahon, Gary Bauer -- all seriously considered by Repubicans for high offices, including POTUS. And people like Beck, Limbaugh, Hannity have more influence because of their outsider status.
GOP'ers think political experience is corrupting or elitist. Demoncrats think political experience shows commitment to public service. GOP'ers think outside experience is proof of ability; Demoncrats think outside experience is corrupting.

Aye...'tis the dream of every American.
You gave me a sad.
