FBI's deputy director abruptly quits — sources say furious he didn't get Kash Patel's job
Andrew Bailey is stepping down as co-deputy director of the FBI after about a year sharing the bureau's number two job under Director Kash Patel, according to multiple people familiar with the decision.
Bailey, a staunch Donald Trump ally who previously served as Missouri's Republican attorney general, told colleagues Monday that he was leaving to spend more time with his family, the sources told Bloomberg Law News.
I hope the Taiwanese government has a helluva lot of submarines to evacuate the people with on short notice, because they can no LONGER-TERM expect what is left of the US to defend them anymore. The Taiwanese Navy has 4 subs, and a 5th locally built one just working up. Two of them are modified WW2 era Tench class boats that are training boats, while the other 2 are Dutch subs built in the late '80s. Those won't be used for any sort of evacuation.
Thanks for the information. I didn't think there was a hope in hell anyway, I just mentioned subs because the People's Air Force would sweep the ocean clean of surface vessels in no time, whether the US Sixth Fleet was still in the neighborhood or not.

I think the odds China decides to take out Taiwan in the remainder of Trump's term are pretty decent. Strike while the stupid-ass in power, our missile supplies are depleted, and our ships are engaged elsewhere. Among other ramifications, Taiwan manufactures a good chunk of the world's supply of semiconductors, including advanced ones U.S. sanctions have been keeping out of Chinese hands.
