Right-Wing Provocateur James O’Keefe Charged in Minnesota Voting Stunt

"The two men wearing mock Islamic attire and speaking with fake accents at a Minneapolis polling place were part of a stunt — and, prosecutors say, violating state law.

The masqueraders were conservative activist James O’Keefe, known for secretly filming interactions to embarrass and discredit people, and a fellow content creator, Cam Higby. They were seeking to draw attention to a Minnesota law that lets a registered voter vouch for the identity of up to eight additional voters who have recently moved so they can cast ballots at precincts where they are not yet registered.

But citing as evidence a video that Mr. O’Keefe posted showing his interactions with poll workers, state prosecutors charged the pair with unlawful voting — which can include an attempt to obtain a ballot by impersonating a registered voter — and identity theft, both felonies. The maximum penalty for each of those crimes is five years in prison."

Known for secretly filming interactions and then *deceptively editing them* to embarrass and discredit people, is what the NYT would have said if they had the balls God gave a dust mite.

"Republican senator Lisa Murkowski backs Democrat in Alaska governor’s race

Lisa Murkowski, a Republican senator from Alaska, has broken with her party to endorse the Democrat in her state’s gubernatorial contest.

Murkowski, a moderate Republican who is no stranger to breaking with Trump, made her surprise endorsement to local news station KTUU. She told the outlet that she felt the three Republicans contesting Jonathan Kreiss-Tomkins in the ranked-choice election lacked the bipartisanship needed for the job, calling them overly partisan.

She said that Kreiss-Tomkins, by contrast, is “a young Alaskan with a view and a perspective that I think Alaska needs right now, a freshness of energy”. She described him as a “a commonsense guy who has a known ability to be working together”.

Sometimes I use AI to bounce-off stupid questions, even though I know it's likely to agree with any suggestion I make just to keep me using it. Anyway, by coincidence, last night I had a random thought: are humans actually somewhat marsupial, insofar as our young are born unable to care for themselves, than let's say a mammal like a deer whose young are able to walk shortly after birth? Turns out there actually is some discussion about this; not so much the marsupial part, but some scientists are proposing that humans actually have a fourth 'tri'mester for infancy, because arguably humans are not born developed enough. I can't help but think this perfectly illustrates the yawning gap between Christian conservative policy and science. They are pushing 'life' back to the twinkle in a mother's eye and the flick of a sperm's tail, but science is realizing humanity as we know it is a surprisingly delayed development.

If anything, A.I. has shown that the real threat facing our species and the planet is Natural Stupidity. The “distillation” of the worst base instincts of the species into a concentration of power “that is so bigly tremendous, no one has ever seen it before, believe me.” The “alphas” on this earth never outgrew the stage of petulant toddlerhood. The “grown-ups” are condemned to frustration and toil because they lack the leverage to put the world’s perennial three-year-olds in time-out.

It's been my observation that organized religion is deleterious to a healthy, happy pregnancy.

Being throttled up one side and back down the other with the guilty stick has a tendency to do that.

Given what is written in Genesis 3:16, it is a continual wonder to me that any woman is either a Jew or a Christian:

“I will make your pains in childbearing very severe;

with painful labor you will give birth to children.

Your desire will be for your husband,

and he will rule over you.”

I am fully in favor of that passage being taught in schools under the title of "Perversions of the Past," and if any religious person objects, simply ask them if they have edited it out of their Bible yet. And if they haven't, they can just shut up.

"Fox News viewership is in freefall as the conservative news network grapples with the fallout from Donald Trump’s faltering popularity. Ahead of closely-watched midterms like the 2026 contest, networks would normally be expected to gain viewers as audiences tune in for coverage of consequential races, the report noted.

Among viewers ages 25 to 54, the demographic advertisers covet most, "the picture is even worse." Fox News is set to post its lowest-rated month in that group in 25 years, averaging just 98,000 viewers. That’s a 27% drop in total viewers from last October and a 32% plunge in the 25-54 demo. Fox News still dominates cable overall, even beating ESPN in total day despite the return of football, but the declines stand out "given the political moment."

What frustrates me about politics is Dems are expected to cater to “everyone” and if even one group is unhappy (inevitably there always is) then they have failed and must be thrown out of office.

Republicans don’t have that problem. They can appeal to their base and ONLY their base and they never have to answer to anyone outside of that. They’re treated like the default setting.

If things are bad when Dems are in charge, vote Republican.

If things are bad when republicans are in charge and Democrats are not perfect, then vote Republican.

Make them invoice everything. If you fed the poor or housed the homeless without forcing them to worship your pinchbeck god, then you get a full tax writeoff. If not, then you're in the business of selling salvation, and the taxes on that are quite high, given that it's a fraud through and through.
