One of the things that set our teeth grinding yesterday was thinking about the note that our Forever President, Barack Obama, would have to leave for the 70-year-old poo-baby usurping his reign. He would be, we seethed, far more gracious than President-elect Dipshittiest would ever deserve.
That, and a plaque on the Moon, which unfortunately has Nixon's name on it. If Trumpy doesn't decide to blow up the Moon for shits and giggles, of course.
Eh. America experimented with democracy and fucked it all up. Maybe it's time for the untied states to have a trial separation. California has some irreconcilable differences with Texas and a few of its other current partners.
For those of us who were born and raised in NYC and are in a particular age range, we have been reading and watching the Grifter for a very long time. I still cannot understand how the rest of the country did not catch on to this con artist. How could everyone have missed the signs? I plan on taking myself out to a movie tomorrow and watching dvds once I get home. I do not want to see anything regarding this man tomorrow.
as i sit here reading the stories, and the non-comments with tears dripping off my chin, i wonder if the world will ever be right again. the pain and loss are so strong, hope is a distant dream, and i can't, i just can't. i cut off a finger in a tablesaw accident, and it didn't hurt this bad.
right index. no push stick. i was working in a trailer factory ripping full sheets of paneling into 2" strips. i learned a couple of lessons, never work faster than is safe, no matter what the boss tells you to do, and it's easier to find a new job, than to regrow appendages. when you're 22, and bringing home 1200 a week, it's amazing how stupid you can be.
that was 1987. i don't really think about it much, except when that fingertip itches and i can't scratch it. the saw kerf turned 3/16 of an inch of finger into hamburger. no putting it back on.
I really, really believe "we", as in "we" the people of the U.S.A., didn't do it. I believe the presidential election was as rigged as Donald Trump claimed it was, but in his favour. I'm convinced one major sign was the discrepancy between the polls (especially exit polls) and the actual outcome. Exit polls are highly accurate, and if they don't agree with the voting results, it'd be because large numbers of the voters questioned were lying to the pollsters, and why should they? -- or because a lot of the votes weren't counted. There is a superficially legitimate way to toss bales of votes into the dumpster. That is if they were illegible or improperly filled out. But the figures are not given on the front pages -- they are pretty hard even to track down -- and it is completely possible for voting officials to junk votes preferentially if they are motivated that way. Like in areas that overwhelmingly vote Democrat. Then there was the whole Interstate Crosscheck System thing. Damn Kris Kobach eternally. That one disenfranchised hundreds of thousands of lawful, legitimate American voters on a completely phoney pretext. Oh, Russian hackers got in, all right, but -- admittedly I'm not expert, I just read all I can and think all I can -- I believe their influence on the election was marginal at best. Putin knew he didn't have to intervene for Trump, just sit back smiling and let the Republican Party do the dirty work for him.And these are the people who forty years ago thought Spiro Agnew was too much of a big-mouthed, ignorant loose cannon to be remotely acceptable as President.
i was in grant park that night.
i couldn't even think about getting tickets for the good bye last week.
both nights, however, i got very very drunk
cally, we're still fighting. it's not done yet.
It won't be his last unwitting trap the Republicans stumble into.
There's sadness. Much sadness.

Be careful what you wish for - Putin is promoting a "Calexit" movement.
Given Obama's skyrocketing popularity, I bet a lot of people are feeling this sentiment right now:

(Unfortunately our upcoming idiot-in-chief forgot to finishing building the parking lot.)

Damned refugees.
Totally stealing this.

Love that pic; have it saved on my HD.

Sure beats the letter Trump is going to write to Pence in a couple weeks when he leaves office.
