As a born-and-bred beaver I do not understand why the right-wing senator and domestic terrorist was not arrested for making threats against the Oregon State Police.
Texas liberals used to occasionally play hooky from the State Senate in order to block legislation. In 2009, the GOP ended this practice when the rule requiring 2/3 of the membership as a quorum to introduce new bills was temporarily suspended for one vote only (which is how Rick Perry's redistricting plan was passed.) Rule changes only require a simple majority in TX. I wonder if Oregonians would be able to do something similar.
