Image Credit: Feministing It's not that state legislators don't know where babies come from. They get that Girl Bathing Suit Area + Boy Bathing Suit Area Babby But they are seriously confused about everything that happens between Mommy and Daddy in the Dark Under the Covers Time and Precious Bundle Has Daddy's Nose Time. Even the lady legislators seem to think that when Daddy rolls over and starts snoring, there is already a tiny human holding hands with Jesus inside Mommy's tummy. (Spoiler alert: There is not.) And when you combine ignorance of basic human biology with a belief that it is rude to talk about icky ladyparts, you wind up passing some truly malevolent, bizarre laws.
If one charts one's fertility, it IS possible to be extremely accurate with knowing when one conceived. That's the benefit of practicing fertility awareness. As someone who has regularly ovulated on or around Day 21 of her cycle for years, I was able to pinpoint (thanks to charting) the window where conception could've occurred *and* have a MUCH more accurate due date than they midwife calculated based on the LMP wheel. She didn't believe me until I started measuring "small" and had an ultrasound to confirm dates. I've charted using sympto-thermal, Creighton (based off of Billings) and Marquette (fertility monitor only) since 2000. I've had three pregnancies, zero "near misses". Had I been using the "day 14" thing to get pregnant, I would most likely have zero children because I always ovulate between day 18 and 24.
Prolecat2 days agoSo women are supposed to sit around with a dead fetus rotting in them for potentially months so a bunch of moralizing busybodies can prove how "pro-life" they are? That's revolting.
Read the book titled "Letters to Gabriel" authored by Karen Garver Santorum. In particular read the chapter about the forced birth of Gabriel at ~20 weeks and, AND, the part about the Santorums taking the dead fetus home for their children to hold and sing to that dead fetus.N.B.: Don't take my word for it. Read Karen Santorum's own words.
Thank you! All I knew really was that it was commonly practiced in cases that did not involve abortions at all, unless I'm mistaken about that. I just don't have the energy to Google it right now.
Point well taken.
They should go with the rule I established as a high school journalist.
Teacher: "You can't use the words 'cunnilingus' and 'fellatio' in print!"
Me: "They're Latin words. Nobody at this school knows Latin. I win."
So if we stick to describing things in a dead language, say "abortum" instead of "abortion,' it's allowed.
It's way beyond revolting!
Umm... cheese?
i have no words for this

From Cali to North CarolinaRight wing expertise is finerSo competent are theyThey pray away the gayAnd know the mysteries of the vagina
This should be our mantra "We aren't incubators".
I also think I should not have any say about a stranger's vagina.I can't imagine anyone thinking otherwise, don't they get reciprocity?
And here I thought that Santa had it rough.
They gave the job to a crane.
It is "dilation & curettage." AKA D&C.
Makes no sense. If the fetus is deceased, it's no longer an abortion by definition. I can't even.
And no lies were told in this comment.
