I've ingested Christmas tree and all three times it was delicious.
The first time was a French speciality made by a friend from the southwest of France: L'Éclade de moules. Basically, you put a wire rack up on some bricks, pile the rack with a high pyramid of dry pine needles, insert mussels into the pyramid, and light the thing on fire. The burning pine needles cook the mussles and leave them with this delectable pine flavor.
The second was a fir ice cream I had at a restaurant in Truckee, California, and that still ranks among the best desserts I've ever had.
And the third time was Wonkette's own fault, because one of you recommended the excellent death metal vegan restaurant Kindred in San Diego, where I had a spruce martini I expected to hate, but which was totally delicious. However, they need to give an extra bonus this year to the person in the bar responsible for stuffing the olives with spruce needles.
I will add, though, that none of these "Christmas trees" was from inside my home; all were free-range, organic, and wild-caught.
It was still adorable, in the same way Smaug (the kitten) is adorable when he attempts to play fight with the dogs even though he's less than 1/4 of their size, and hopelessly out-matched.
And he died of stomach cancer. A great deal of craziness came from his appearances on th eTonight Show and other shows. Natural is GOOD, (even if it's twigs and gravel?)

Oh yeah, total party day!
