Not really OT Just finished Jess Walters' new book, "The Cold Millions". Set in 1910 Spokane: labour strife, police corruption, and rich men outraged when they can't control absolutely everything. Recommended.

I'm beginning to think that McTurtle may have done the country a favor by blocking Garland's nomination, as much as that sucked balls. As AG, Garland might be able to make more of an impact on the law than he would have made on the Court. In any case, having him in this position will surely help to advance the cause of civil rights and rule of law, which is a major step forward.
