I'm so sorry. Hopefully the ship turns soon. I am thrilled that teachers are being prioritized now, but it sucks having to triage. Also, everybody needs to step up the masking- N95s, double masks, good seals. The variants stand at the ready. The numbers seem to be plateauing again after a steep drop, will we never learn
I live in Texas. Vax distribution is 100% political. There is zero chance that I, an old person in group 1b, will get vaccination this year. My place "in line" in my local area is > 200,000. I'm getting really tired of celebs & politicians (who can jump the line) lecturing the rest of us.
I hear that, tho that seems to be less of a case when it comes to Dolly. She's not in TX, it's been a few months since roll out so she's hardly first in line, and she's certainly old enough for her state. My state too, for that matter.
She's a fucking professional. She may act like a ditzy blonde, but she's a pro. She did that video in one take, no cuts or edits, no stumbles, perfect outfit, perfect pitch, she handled the awkward doctor with charm and humor, gently scolded and encouraged the anti-vaxers, while looking half her age (she's 75!!!). All flawlessly without missing a beat. She's delightful and charming and funny... she's an absolute pro.
I got my first shot today in MA, but we have as yet not been able to find an appointment for MrsBL. The state's scheduling website isn't close to realtime, and invariably when you click through from the first page saying site X has hundreds of available doses you end up at a page saying no doses are available.MA can, and should, do better.
The son of Dr. Abumrad is Jad, who made the great podcast called "Dolly Parton's America." Dolly met Dr. Abumrad when he helped her after a car crash, and they became good friends.
Chocolate?
You kidding? I’m honored!
Wonkette could make some bank with Dolly swag, methinks.
Now, give that woman a medal!!She's a national treasure!

How long until the right starts canceling Dolly? 😒

Maybe they know the secret to immortality. You don't know, BECAUSE YOU NEVER BOTHERED TO ASK!

I bow before Dolly.

It is a shitshow of epic proportions. I hope you re both able to get an appointment soon.
I've never liked those cold shoulder tops, but this is actual a perfect reason to wear one.

"What are you a man or a mouse? I mean a woman or a wouse?"
The best movie, and based on an actual woman's-rights-in-the-workplace movement. Jane Fonda wrote the part with Dolly in mind.
"I didn't think you'd be so clumsy!"
