A customer is outraged over something a restaurant employee did. Does that outrage reveal them to in fact be the asshole? (Hint: the answer to this question is always yes.) A Domino's customer in Texas ordered a pizza five minutes before closing time. The pizza was delivered quickly and correctly. So what's the problem, you ask? That it came with the above
Uh im pretty sure the customer did not order 5 minutes before close just to be inconvenient. He wanted a pizza, pizza establishment open, perfectly reasonably orders pizza. Make it, deliver it, and shut the hell up. Thats another order gained. You don’t act like that as an employee. The customer is an employee somewhere else too and has to abide to this standard so cry me a river. This generation is so warped in the head. Literally no one else in history would think this way as is pretty much always the case with these looney tunes.
Visitors and other staff will order out too. Mostly you try and do it mid-shift but if mid shift is 9pm, I suppose it's problematic on occasion. If you are busy enough you didn't get dinner, you're probably too busy to go to the lobby and hang out for awhile waiting for the delivery guy. #bringbackcandystripers.
I'm gonna troll here. I understand about the social contract, etc. But then have a damn policy for the restaurant, "last order at 11:45" or whatever. "Kitchen's already closed." Whatever, I've been on the receiving end, and although I'm bummed, I GET OVER IT.
I thought this story was gonna be about a habitual abuser of the closing time, but that does seem like a pretty stupid move on the employees' part for a one-time offender. Tip generously, of course. Thank the employee for going the extra mile. "I know it's close to closing time, but I really need this Dominos."
Which leads me to conclude with this: Dominos, ugh. Nobody EVER needs Dominos.
Well her anaology of being a nurse is bullshit because the next shift of nurses come on so it is not as if the hospital closes. One shift goes off and new shift comes on. Maybe a simple sign No Orders later than 11:45 pm or whatever takes the guess work outl
I work for a DDS, so technically a Dr., and he's a total Berner all the way (DDS's are usually even more conservative than MD's). One of the many reasons I love working for such a mensch!
My oldest sister is a nurse. It would take a personality transplant for her to move up to the level of compassion that nurse Ratchet shows. She's also a Christianist winger nutbag, so woe until you if she has to treat you and you are an obvious liberal; she'll make sure it hurts more, for Jesus and Rush.
Yes. I quit the Oklahoma job about a year and a half ago. Both were private franchises, and we knew damn well the Oklahoma owner was deliberately keeping wages low. Business started booming all over town, and everyone was paying minimum wage. When I tried to drum up more employees and told them the wages, they laughed in my face.
Eh. I got chewed out by a first sergeant once for being in their building. But soldiers are always in one place. Hospitals are time sinks. All Domino's delivery zones are supposed to be a maximum 10 minute drive. Anything more and we don't go there. Nurses have to be hunted down, or you have to wait in line at the Emergency room to talk to the front desk, or you have to wait in lobby til the nurse chooses to show up. Pizza is only profitable if the time is kept down. Hospitals are time sinks. Domino's is not a charity.
Oh yeah! I did enjoy delivery when I did it! People are always happy to see you, children cheer for you, finding a customer was like playing a video game. It's only when people make a habit of something that hurts you that there is backlash. Most managers were happy to go out of their way if it was a good customer (known for tipping well). One good tip can make up for a whole bad day!

There's a funny thing about what happens when you "do something about it."
So by your explanation, you're saying the nurse herself only complained to a friend, and it was the friend who blew the whole thing out of proportion. Ergo, we should cut the nurse some slack.
Then we look at what I said--specifically, where I stated "people who scream the most." Taking that into context, perhaps you may entertain the idea that it was not the nurse, the original customer, I was referring to, but perhaps her friend who decided to take her moral indignation to the Interwebs?
I mean, that's my take on what I was thinking when I wrote my comment, combined with my experience of multiple incidents while working in customer service jobs of assholes claiming they knew "real" customer service because of their own jobs, and so therefore my refusal to lose my job by giving them a huge discount was proof I was a worthless piece of shit.
Of course, you being you, I'm sure you know what goes on my head much better than I do.
I can't believe people don't tip!! We make 6.00 an hour and pay for the gas. It's a luxury to have it delivered. If ur so broke don't order

Aw, that's so cute! Maybe it's because I keep getting transferred all over the South that I only run into crazy doctors..
Hmm, that "South" thing might be playing a part in it too...

That's pretty cool. We need more bosses like you.
