He’s going to treat the Greenlanders well!? That video was so nuts. The guy treats women like trash, treats children horrible by not wanting to give them healthy foods or health care. Treats middle class people like they are getting to many tax breaks? pleeassse Donald and Donald Jr her a grip. We are not a kingdom!!

As a convict T is legally unable to enter Canada. No doubt a permit would be granted, but I would like to see him designated persona non grata

I've heard that Junior was very disappointed to find that the snow in Greenland wasn't the kind he usually enjoys.

We ought to make wealth holding a full time job.

Mandatory meetings per week for each 10 billion in assets.

Missing the meeting or sending a proxy will cost one million dollars.

I know I'm going to sound like a common apopheniac...but is it possible that Trump and his fellow doddering rich olds down at MaraLago have been speculating about how just maybe this global warming thing is real and maybe it would be a very clever-good-brain-biggly-genius thing to have a plan to maybe move (some) of America a little further north? Maybe to a big island (security!) where all the condos and golf courses would have ocean views?

If Donny acts up we may have to call Nurse Stormy, eh.

And not with a rolled up magazine this time eh.

Junior went to Greenland and stayed about ten minutes before skedaddling. Reminds me of when Joe Namath went to South Bend for a campus visit before settling on a college; looked around and didn't see no women (this is before ND went coed), decided it wasn't for him and got the hell outta there. (though Joe's SATs might have figured in there too).

Cokey McSniffles clearly misunderstood when he was told Greenland was covered almost entirely with snow.

He persists in sounding like a thug. "Be a real shame if something was to happen to that little Greenland and no one could do anything about it, right?"

I am a Canadian who never thought I'd live to hear a US president elect say he looks to absorb Canada. This is Donald Trump though, a malignant narcissist who will say and do the most harmful things without any conscience, while his followers think it is just swell, because of let's MAGA. I deeply feel this is a real threat to Canadian way of life of peaceful co-existence with our nieghbours, that has at least existed after the early British and fledgling Canadian government took away the sovereignty of the Indigenous Peoples. Speaking with an Indigenous elder two years ago we both agreed that it isn't a change of mind we need, it is a change of heart then our mind will follow this leading. May this change of heart happen and that we are simply unable to use our minds to harm our neighbours for profit ever again.

Absolutely no way the American people would go along with an invasion of Canada. Muslim countries, they’re good to go. But not Canada. But see below.

I think trump supporters would though. Trump supporters think they are saving something. It's akin to a God complex, a virtuous path to take, lead by God to save what they believe is great and godly but is harmful to all life, including their own. What might a good ecology education do for most people to get this self-evident fact? But brain washed of any intelligence by the lure of greatness they will follow their leaders to their demise.

FWIW, you know Casa Loma? Says at Casa Loma that the Canadian general who built that thing tried in 1922, I believe, to get the Imperial Parliament to sign on to an invasion of the US, which he wanted to return to the Empire. The Brits sloughed him off.

Expand full comment

The brits simply could not justify an invasion in 1922 post world war one. Canada which was still under British control in 1922 was experiencing a boom in development of Canadian resources. There was so much of great Canada lands and waters to be exploited for profit Britain did not need a war with USA to profit more. More wars over territory will happen to gain more resources to exploit by those that want them to maintain control for power. It's a horrible, yet simple cycle.

A fantasy. By 1922 the US was a super power. It had sent millions of troops to Europe in WW 1. Check steel production numbers, Model T's in UK etc.etc. It was also the only creditor, owed vast sums by everyone.

There is still resentment here in Canada over Britain backing down over the Alaska Panhandle, an extension into previous Canadian territory. But Britain had enough on its hands.

Expand full comment

yes because Great Britain was unable to make its empire great again, but GB sure was able to keep itself economically viable by stripping Canada of its resources for profit. Alas history does not favour the losers, but when exploiting life they are all eventually losers.

Its kind of morbidly funny that its true that the inuits of Greenland propably would be better of in some ways under The Unites States of America. Denmark has a LOT of colonial sins to answer for.

No, no, not at all, but given the now-time, Im not sure if my greenlander friends wouldnt rather go with the US *even under Trump*. The Danes took away a whole generation and sent them to the mainland, like in Australia, its really bad.

Sigh. Nothing says fun like having a president threatening to take over allied countries, and blasting out crazy crap all day, every day. Is he just waiting for all our heads to explode before his does?

Expand full comment

Also, he is picking three different fights at once. What kind of moron does that? He could easily conquer Greenland and only then inform the world of his intention to conquer Canada while having just gained the ability to attack their flank. It is only afterwards you inform the world that you're annexing Panama too. FFS he is even incompetent as a comic book villain / dictator.

Hell, even Prussian generals knew just a two-front war was tricky.

History lesson? WWII? Who ran a European front and a Pacific front at the same time? But that was when the USA was an industrial power and Detroit was the Arsenal of Democracy.

Expand full comment

He is a moron. And he can't actually attack any of these countries. Seriously, our military is going to invade allies? The whole Canadian bit is absolutely ludicrous. If anything, East and West coast states would voluntarily join Canada as provinces, before Canada would be under any USA dominion. The whole point of fpotus's gibberish is to deflect attention away from his cabinet picks.
