I've only caught bits and pieces, but NPR did a series about one such case of a white priest murdered for supporting the Civil Rights movement: White Lies:
In Episode 3, we break down the conspiracy theory that emerged after the Rev. James Reeb's murder: that he was allowed to die or was killed because the civil rights movement needed a white martyr.
Is it just a coincidence that Trump keeps going to Border Patrol for his goons instead of say, the FBI, ATF, or DEA? Is it because they're the most likely to want to just pick up anyone who "looks suspicious" and then figure out what to charge them with later?
Trump wants SO BADLY to be a big tough guy. It's absolutely pathetic.
We get such a bad name here in NM. We used to be just a punch line, and now look.

See: Kissinger, Henry - bonafide warcriminal and mass murderer. I sneer at your Dick Cheney a mere poseur in comparison.
He wants SO BADLY to be a big tough guy. So he's trying to act like a big tough guy, and doing it SO BADLY.
And Los Pollos Hermanos, with that extra special ingredient.
We used to be just a punch lineCleveland sends its sympathies.
And the state has a woman governor who I seem to recall pissed Trump off by snubbing him...last year was that? Anyway, uppity brown Democrat female.
Could be worse. You could be in Florida.
So Trump has been President for almost four years and NOW he decides to go all Buford Pusser during a COVID pandemic? Leading from behind as always.
He's courting the "road runner" vote. :-*

More like the Richard Daley vote.
